Here we go again.

That paragon of economic virtue, Teresa Ghilarducci has surfaced once more to expound the benefits of the government taking over seizing confiscating stealing your 401k “for your own good.” I wrote about this little banshee back in May, after O’biden made a slip of the tongue with regard to their plans for redistributing your retirement nest egg. Now, it appears she has been gaining ground with her arguments because, as Doug Ross points out, it’s not off the table. In fact, your 401k may be part of the main course for the upcoming lame duck session of Congress.

Doug writes:

…I am not a conspiracy theorist. But I can put two and two together. Earlier this evening Papa B pointed me to an oozing secretion from the Puffington Roast, which markets the idea that 401(k) retirement savings accounts are evil and should be abolished.

He goes on to detail Mzzz. Ghilarducci’s well laid plans to confiscate your dough.

Guilarducci and the Democrats are advocating legalized theft of the juicy trillions of dollars Americans have saved in their retirement plans. Nationalizing those accounts would support massive new spending programs plus payoff the unions and crony capitalists looking for more bailouts at the “workers'” expense.

Please do read the whole thing. Then listen to the interview she gave with Mark Levin in October of 2008. It’s linked in the Doug Ross article but just in case, here is the link again.

I also find it worth noting that:

Mz. Ghilarducci was named by US News and World report as the Most Dangerous Woman in America back in 2008. It appears they may have been on to something.

And, Mz. Ghilarducci “at times” has been a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, a fact noted in their National Political Committee meeting minutes of Sept. 28-29, 2009 as being considered for Vice Chair. – Thanks Wikipidia.

Keep your eyes peeled, folks. They’re not done by a long shot.

But neither are we.

How ironic is this?

And what do you mean by “appear?” Is he going to emerge from a mythical, magical cloud of smoke? Since they’ve already announced it, they kind of blew that surprise though, don’t you think?

But I guess it is an option.

Via the Christian Science Monitor comes the headline:

“Obama on ‘MythBusters’: Will he get to blow something up?”

I would have edited that to read “Will he get to blow something else up?” especially after the last year and a half with  he, Pelosi, Reid and the whole Hee-Haw gang of Democrats having presided over the destruction of what remained of our Constitution.

Never mind the facts though. The CSM staff is giddy, giddy with excitement.

We can’t wait – will Obama wear a toga? Will he hold up a big magnifying glass and light fire to a sheet of poll numbers to show the gang how it’s done?

Sheesh. I bet given the chance, he’d light The Bill of Rights with that magnifying glass and use it to light a cigarette.

OOPS! Look what I did! Tee Hee Hee. Oh well, time for a smoke break.

Here’s an idea that will never happen: Howsabout we take that magnifying glass and examine that mythical birth certificate? Hmmm? Let’s put those years of mythbusting to some actual use. But alas, that ain’t gonna happen. I wouldn’t believe anything that came out of their leftie little mouths anyway.

Still, there are endless possibilities and mysteries to be explored. They could hook him up to one of their lie detectors, but then again, I’m quite sure the polygraph machine couldn’t take so much abuse. There just isn’t that much room on those graphs for the required squiggling needle movement.

Bzzzzt. flappt. Ping!

Where did YOUR campaign contributions come from Mr. Obummer, sir? hmm?

Uhhh, Uhhh…

Is it true that you are secretly a Muslim?

Umm, er Uhh…

How many hospitals have you claimed to be born in? Hmmm?

Uhhh. Uhhmm. Well.

Which one was it really? Was it Kenya perhaps?

Uhh. I er um.

How about those communist connections with Frank Marshall Davis and Harry Bridges in Hawaii or Bill Ayers in Chicago?

Michelle, help!

Yes, these mysteries and more could be explored and the myths surrounding the man could be busted, but it isn’t going to happen.

One thing is sure. I won’t be watching.

I’m busy.

UPDATE: Steve of Motor City Times laments on the ruination.

Lately, we bloggers have been focused on the national elections in our attempts to reclaim and restore our Constitutional Republic. The people who belong to the Progressive States Network are working against that goal at all levels, including the State Legislatures.

As noted in the previous post, 1000 Progressives in State Governments,

The PSN is a network of Progressive organizations that share Obama’s goal of the ‘fundamental transformation of America’

and as noted on the new Socia.list page, the members of the PSN Board of Directors include a bonafide “who’s-who” of Progressive/Socialist/Communist thought.

The Socia.list is depressingly long.

It shows just how much work we have to do to vote these people out and restore sanity to our Republic, but it can be done. Here’s how, as I see it:

1. Make note of who your representatives are along with their opponents.

2. Get that list to your TEA Party and Republican Party leaders for distribution.

3. Get out the vote!

4. Watch the Progressives lose office on Nov. 2.

5. Rest a bit.

6. Get back to work!

There are still some Progressives left, but we will have hopefully ousted enough to make the rest fear for their jobs. Go forth and strengthen the organizations you’ve joined and or started. Two years remain before we can truly turn the ship of state in the right direction, towards a restoration of our Founding Principles and a Constitutional Republic.

The new Socia.list page can be found at the top of the blog, just under the masthead and to the right of the Shoppe tab.

These are not mis-speaks. This is the thinking of the Obama regime.

I think this video should be viral. If you agree, then share it!

UPDATE: Beck produced this video in response to the smear tactics the left uses against Conservative candidates they are scared of such as Christine O’Donnell. They are using an off the cuff admission from Christine that she dabbled in witchcraft while a teenager in high school. Hmmm.

And now the Wiccans are getting their feelings hurt! How does that happen?

Wasn’t Mrs. Obummer introduced by a Wiccan at a fund raiser this weekend? Maybe O’Donnell should court the Wiccan vote a little more closely. ~ Nah.

Also, from the comments over at Riehl World View:

And don’t forget Obama’s first Social Secretary’s voodoo connection (which is probably how Obama got elected):

WSJ: “Desirée Glapion Rogers is the descendant of a Creole voodoo priestess named Marie Laveau Glapion…”
http://magazine.wsj.com/features/the-big-interview/desiree-rogers/

I’m never surprised by the depths the left will stoop to disparage an opponent. Never mind the fact that O’Donnell has since been led to Christ and is a devout Christian.

Oh. Wait. Never mind.

Also not to be missed, Carol over at No Sheeples Here has produced another outstanding piece of artistic snark you must see, so I liberated it from it’s digital bonds to decorate this wall.

then commences to whine about our supposed human rights violations, which, if there are any at all, are the direct result of progressive/socialist policies.

How UN-American.

If we are to take this one step further we could liken Obama’s lawsuit against Arizona and the subsequent report to the UN as a drug pusher who whines to his addicted flock about not being able to stop selling them dope, all the while enjoying the lavish perks of the income.

As Peter Wehner says in his article “How Obama Sees America”

It is also evidence of a particular cast of mind, one that is eager to undermine America’s moral standing in the world. That has been a consistent effort by the current administration. We have seen if from the president, who seems to take special delight in denigrating our country before the rest of the world, and those such as Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner, who went out of his way to assure us that in discussions with China about human rights, the Arizona law against illegal immigration was brought up “up early and often. It was mentioned in the first session, and as a troubling trend in our society and an indication that we have to deal with issues of discrimination or potential discrimination, and that these are issues very much being debated in our own society.”

If the apologist in chief were to enforce the laws on the books we would have far less of a problem to deal with. But we know that’s not about to happen.

As The Heritage Foundation points out, the Universal Periodic Review is nothing more than a ham-handed praise fest for all of the human rights abusers to pat themselves on the back, and by joining the farcical circle-jerk, Obama has given the United States her first day in the barrel.   ~ Umm, well, I was paraphrasing a bit there.

Again, how UN-American of you, Obummer.

UPDATE: Linked at TCOTS. Thanks General!

Over the past eleven months, a recurring theme of mine has been to ruminate on the perils of big government and what we can do to combat the over reaching arm of federal encroachments on our liberty and freedom. Since some of you are new to the blog, and since I transferred quite a few of those essays from the old site yesterday, I thought I would take the opportunity to point you to the “Prime” tab which will hold links to those essays for your reference.

As an introduction, in reverse order of appearance, here are ten essays on

The Perils of Big Government

Note also that within the “Prime” tab are what I consider to be some of the best writing by other bloggers I’ve run across in my travels. I don’t always have time or think of bookmarking a post so the list is a bit short for now. Most of my time online lately is focused on defeating the Godzilla of a government we’ve been growing, so if your wondrous work is absent, please take no offense at the omission, it may be that I simply haven’t read that particular work or wasn’t in a situation where I was able to make a note. Either way, the fault I’m sure, lies with me.

In addition to the random readings titled “From Other Blogs,” my friends at The Resistance have been very busy assembling valuable information for us to use and peruse. Those links will be posted on “Prime” also as they come available. I will try to make a note of when I make an addition to the “Prime” tab here on the front page but do check out that page from time to time as I may have forgotten to make note. They don’t call me “Mind-Numbed” for nothing.

Look at this headline from the AP:

Obama says GOP making life harder for the jobless

WHAT?

The F*^k-stick in chief expects me to believe that? I nearly punched out my monitor. My hands are shaking so hard right now I can barely hunt and peck through this sentence and the coffee spilled into the keyboard isn’t helping.

Here are some quotes from the article in question:

President Barack Obama on Saturday pinned blame on Republicans for making life harder for the unemployed and for those who could lose their jobs without new federal intervention. He did so even as he sought to distance himself from the “dreary and familiar politics” of Washington.

Grrrrr…

His main concern was the rejection of a bill in the Senate that would have provided more money for the long-term unemployed, aid for strapped state governments and the renewal of popular tax breaks for businesses and individuals.

“If this obstruction continues, unemployed Americans will see their benefits stop,” Obama said. “Teachers and firefighters will lose their jobs. Families will pay more for their first home. All we ask for is a simple up or down vote. That’s what the American people deserve.”

Tax breaks? I’d doubt it. What you call a tax break I venture more closely resembles a broken bone.

I’ll tell you what the American people deserve, is a congress and a president who will get their collective boot off of the neck of the private sector and let us go back to work. We aren’t peasants to be bantered to and we certainly aren’t pheasants in need of bird seed. We are a people capable of much more than your petty little mind will ever comprehend mister, and I can tell you this with the utmost sincerity, if it comes down to it, we will be very unpleasant peasants to deal with.

Where are my meds. Freaking moron.

About this brouhaha over the President’s decision to forgo the Arlington Cemetery appearance to spend Memorial Day in Chicago. I was trying to get upset about it. I really was. Then it hit me, who cares? If he were an ordinary citizen, he probably wouldn’t attend any services at all. Judging from his actions so far, I conclude this man hates America and everything the founders intended when the country was established. So, who cares if Barack Hussein Obama doesn’t show at Arlington? No-one should. Not me. Not the soldiers serving overseas. Not the fallen soldiers we are honoring on the occasion.

What will be missed, unfortunately, is a President of the United States of America. One who understands that the office of President is not about one man, not an apologist-in-chief or a narcissist who takes the “all about me” approach to life. What will be missed is a solemn appreciation as to why that precious blood was spilled in the first place. That liberty, freedom, and our rights as people are not granted by the government, but by God and that any President swears an oath to protect those rights as enumerated in the Constitution.

No, this President doesn’t understand what his role should be, if his does, he’s sure doing the absolute opposite. Almost every action he has taken has served to divide, not unify, as he promised. All of his dealings thus far have been obscure and opaque, not transparent. All of his speeches have been misdirection and double-talk, deflection and projection, never taking blame when due and taking credit where none is deserved.

So, I’m not going to lose any sleep over his decision to attend the ceremony and speak at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery instead of Arlington. But I am watching and listening with eyes and ears wide open. Memorial Day did, after all, begin as Decoration Day after the Civil War and if he is true to form, he will use his remarks to pour more salt into the wound of America’s original sin of slavery. Never mind the fact that America is the only country in the world to ever abolish it. He could do a world of good by attending at the Lincoln cemetery, if he uses his remarks to help heal the wounds that slavery caused, but he won’t.

I predict he will do as he has done in the past, to see the world, our country and our sovereign rights as Americans as one more piece of clay in need of molding into his twisted socialist/communist ideal, not protecting the Constitution and the rights therein like the fragile piece of glass this country and those freedoms truly are. We shall see.

So, on this day, forget we have a President who hates his country, for even though  he hates it, we love it all the more in spite of him. We must voice our opposition to his agenda louder than ever before to honor those we remember this weekend. Hoist our flag and fly it proudly. Pray for the lost, pray for and say thank you to our veterans, and most importantly, pray for our troops in harms way. That is the true purpose of Memorial Day.

God bless America and the soldiers who protect her.

UPDATE: Linked at The Daley Gator. Thanks Doug!

Cass Sunstein, Elena Kagan, The DCCC, El Presidente Obamalama ding-dong and former President Clinton are worried about your informational intake, your knowledge consumption.

Why wouldn’t they be?

Much like the food or drugs they regulate or the job you are chosen for, or the housing you receive, it must be categorized, approved, diverse but standardized, financed, subsidized and inspired by the government, but that’s quadruply redundant isn’t it, comrade?

I read today of yet another veiled attack on freedom of speech by the very informed Bill Clinton. Addressing a Yale graduating class he reportedly

…told Yale seniors on Sunday to listen to people with whom they disagree.

Some of us are, sir, and we don’t like what we’re hearing.

He also thoughtfully warned of some bizarre consequences resulting from info-overload:

…while the country is less sexist, racist and homophobic than it once was, people today only want to be around those who agree with them.

“In our media habits, we go to the television sites, we go to the radio talk shows, we go to the blog sites that agree with us, and it can have very bizarre consequences” he said, citing the controversy over the origin of President Obama’s birth certificate.

Bizarre.

Don’t they sell stuff at bazaars?

I’m not buying. As a matter of fact I’m here to return something defective. (Can you say Health Care Reform?) What is bizarre, and telling, is the former President’s lack of understanding as to likely causation of bizarre behavior.

…as information becomes more available, so does the potential for its misuse.

He noted that Faisal Shahzad, the man accused of attempting to bomb Times Square, received a college degree in the United States before flying back to Pakistan to train as a terrorist.

Wait. Did I just agree with Clinton on something? Did he just blame an immigrant for taking advantage of our county only to use that privilege against us? Did he even name a country as the source of the hatred?

He did. But he got back on point soon enough. The cause is not an ideology of hate against America. or Christians, it’s the information itself!

“It shows you that when you tear down all the walls, and you can break through all the barriers of information, that the same things that empower you to get access to more information more quickly than ever before could empower you to build bombs,” he said. “It’s an unstable world.”

We do agree Mr. Clinton. It is an unstable world. We disagree however on what it will take to make it a better place. I and many like me would rather the free flow of political thought not be challenged or obstructed with demagoguery and political projection.

I hold as a tenet that it is the free exchange of religious and political ideas and concepts that have the most promise in our daily discourse and for anyone to suggest censoring or forced diversity and dissemination of ideas runs contrary to the fabric of our nation. But then again, socialism will not be accepted willingly by a free thinking, outspoken people.

Been meaning to post this video. As appropriate as it is…

After listening to Glenn Beck this morning, I decided to find the paper he referenced on this Cass Sunstein guy.

Here is a quote from:

Conspiracy Theories

What are YOU lookin' at? SHUT UP!

CASS R. SUNSTEIN
University of Chicago – Law School
ADRIAN VERMEULE
Harvard University – Harvard Law School
This paper can be downloaded free of charge from the
Social Science Research Network at:
http://ssrn.com/abstract=1084585

II. Governmental Responses
What can government do about conspiracy theories? Among the things it can do, what should it do? We can readily imagine a series of possible responses. (1) Government might ban conspiracy theorizing. (2) Government might impose some kind of tax, financial or otherwise, on those who disseminate such theories. (3) Government might itself engage in counterspeech, marshaling arguments to discredit conspiracy theories. (4) Government might formally hire credible private parties to engage in counterspeech. (5) Government might engage in informal communication with such parties, encouraging them to help. Each instrument has a distinctive set of potential effects, or costs and benefits, and each will have a place under imaginable conditions. However, our main policy idea is that government should engage in cognitive infiltration of the groups that produce conspiracy theories, which involves a mix of (3), (4) and (5).

This guy is scaaaaary.  I figure, if  Stacy McCain and Smitty say there are 5 a’s in raaaaacist, then there must be 5 a’s in scaaaaary with regard to this mad hatter. And when I say scaaaaary, I mean insaaaaane. How do these nutcases actually make it through law school? (That’s a rhetorical question.)

The preceding quote was taken directly from the paper here Page 14.

Here is some more lovely info from Wackopedia which quotes his book:

In his book Democracy and the Problem of Free Speech Sunstein says there is a need to reformulate First Amendment law. He thinks that the current formulation, based on Justice Holmes’ conception of free speech as a marketplace “disserves the aspirations of those who wrote America’s founding document.”[14] The purpose of this reformulation would be to “reinvigorate processes of democratic deliberation, by ensuring greater attention to public issues and greater diversity of views.”[15] He is concerned by the present “situation in which like-minded people speak or listen mostly to one another,”[16] and thinks that in “light of astonishing economic and technological changes, we must doubt whether, as interpreted, the constitutional guarantee of free speech is adequately serving democratic goals.”[17] He proposes a “New Deal for speech [that] would draw on Justice Brandeis’ insistence on the role of free speech in promoting political deliberation and citizenship.”[15]

Yea, that old festering sore, the First Amendment. It needs to be fixed, FIXED I tell you. Can’t have a bunch of people running around, associating with like minded folks just because they want to or they might agree on a position! We must FORCE diversity and differing views into the minds of the ignorant unwashed masses.

If only the Founders knew what we know. Those foolish, idiotic old men. They were drunk, or high, or both to conceive of Natural Law in the first place, why, we now know that there is no god but government. Right?

Please excuse the ranting sarcasm. It happens sometimes.

These are the types of people Barack Hussein Obama has hand picked to be his advisers and czars.

We’ve got a fight on our hands people. These are treacherous, traitorous, treasonous individuals who must be stopped.

God help us all.
