WTF! Every day this country looks more and more like a clip from a Saturday Night Live skit. What kind of bizzaro world is it where a criminal gets better treatment in a detention center than in the country from whence they came?

It seems ICE is in negotiations with it’s confinement contractor to “improve” their detention facilities:

Overall, the facilities are expected to be less prison-like, offering freer movement for detainees, fewer pat downs and better access to legal resources. The agreement calls for fresh vegetables and access to self-serve beverages along with cooking and exercise classes, according to a list released by ICE.

CCA will soften “the look for the facility with hanging plants, flower baskets, new paint colors, different bedding and furniture” and allow lengthy visits from friends and family who can provide outside packages or food for special celebrations under changes to be made over the next six months.

Hey, GREAT NEWS! Now we can bring Uncle Carlos that birthday cake he’s been asking for, except now we won’t have to put a file in it. We’ll just hand it to him along with the knife, gun and keys to the stolen car we left down the road!

Then the family arrives at the facility to find that it’s improved so much, they want to move in! “Arrest me! Arrest me!”

I tell you what, my house could stand some new drapes and a coat of paint too. You think I might could “detain” some of those aliens for you? On second thought, I retract.

Wait, it gets better:

ICE Director John Morton announced last year that the agency would make detention facilities less prison-like because immigrant detainees are being held on civil immigration charges, not criminal offenses…

Yes, you read that correctly. More language calisthenics from the apologists in ICE. Being illegal is not considered criminal. Question: Hey, Mr. Morton Moron, what part of illegal don’t you understand?”

Representatives of the detention officers union sound to me like the only ones with their collective heads out of their arses.

“It’s absolutely insane, the changes they’re making,” said Chris Crane, president of AFGE Council 118/ICE, the union that represents 7,000 ICE officers but not the contractors. “It just makes for an absolutely unsafe environment, not only for the detainees, but for the officers.”

He contends that many detainees could be drug dealers or gang members – even if they haven’t been convicted.

How about instead of spending money painting and otherwise sprucing up the prison and teaching them the fine art of basket weaving, we deport the river swimming, fence jumping, desert crossing law breaking criminals. What do these brain surgeons in ICE think this is going to do to deter future illegals from coming here in the first place?!

I’ll tell you what.

Nothing.

All it is, is more chaos and subjugation heaped upon the backs of the American people.

Had enough yet?
