From Rory Cooper at the Heritage Foundation comes word that among the new statues unveiled today in Virginia at a memorial commemorating the occasion will be the bust of a dictator.

…when over 160,000 troops from the United States, Britain, France and Canada bravely stormed the beaches of Normandy, marking a turning point in World War II. In Bedford, Virginia, a memorial to the invasion will be unveiled with statues of western Allied leaders, including President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Prime Minister Winston Churchill and President Harry Truman. The memorial will also include a bust of dictator Joseph Stalin.

WTF? On American soil?

Some would argue the point that Stalin in fact had a major influence as an ally in the conflict. But others, such as Dr. Lee Edwards, chairman of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, disagree with the inclusion.

Since the fall of the Soviet Union, statues of Joseph Stalin have been torn down all over Europe and even in the former Soviet Union itself. The world is closer than ever before to a consensus on the evils of communism and Stalin’s primary role in the worst crimes of the last century. And yet a statue of Stalin is included in the National D-Day Memorial…

Torn down in Europe only to be reconstructed in America. They probably could have saved a few bucks from the artists commission if they would have just boxed up the ones they were tearing down in Russia and shipped them over here. I bet the freaks in Austin, which happens to be Texas’ liberal mecca, would love to have one on display on 6th Street right next to Chairman Mao and Obummer himself.

This is sickening. On D-Day?

I wonder how long that statue will last.

WTF is right ! FDR caved to Stalin and ignored Churchill’s plan to invade Germany through the soft underbelly which is now all the jack-a-stans. Piece of shit. Got a lot of incredible Americans killed on D-day.
Stalin didn’t want us going from that direction as there would be American military in the area that Russia took over soon after the war that they wouldn’t have been able to so easily.

    Friggin disgusting.

Perhaps on our commemorations of D-Day we can re-educate our youth who have no doubt been indoctrinated to embrace the what’s bad is good school of thought. Then perhaps the Stalin statue will meet a fate of its own.
