Health Care Reform

From Right Klik:

Ten Buck Fridays is proud to announce that Stephen Broden is the winner of this week’s TBF poll. Broden demonstrates a profound understanding of the compelling issues that are at stake in the upcoming election.

Pastor Broden in 2009:

I’ve just made my donation to Stephen Broden’s campaign for Congress. Please join with me and the over 80 TBF blogs and patriots in support of conservative candidates who will fight for us in the halls of Congress.

Mr. Broden’s donation page is here.

Please make a note of Ten Buck Fridays somewhere on the donation form.

The new TBF poll is up in the sidebar. I would encourage everyone to research and vote for their favorite candidate. I’ve already cast my vote for Stephen Broden who, as I pointed out in the previous post is running against Eddie Bernice Johnson in TX 30. Stephen Broden is running on a platform of strong Constitutional principles and understands where Obama and the Progressives/ Liberals in Congress would like to take the country.

Right Klik has posted a list of all of the candidates with corresponding links and info for your enjoyment and edification. Please choose your favorites and make donations to these worthy Conservatives.

Here is a portion of a campaign speech from Pastor Broden on our duty to the Republic as citizens.

I must say, I really like this guy.

The TBF poll in a nutshell: This is a poll designed to promote rising conservative stars. At the end of the week, the winner will be promoted by a network of over 80 conservative blogs and will receive a flurry of contributions from patriots across the country.

from Little Miss Attila concerning the Republican surge of congress in November.

I threw my two pennies into the wishing well.

Your turn.

Tell Joy I said howdy.

When the Bob Etheridge story broke, I was pleased to learn that Bob had a viable opponent, Renee Ellmers. And as read more about Ellmers, I discovered that she isn’t just viable, she’s actually a formidable conservative candidate. As a Registered Nurse who works as Clinical Director of a Wound Care Center, Ellmers is keenly interested in taking a serious and proactive stand against the democrats’ health control legislation.
Now that the benevolent Democratic tyrants in Washington have appointed themselves to be our health care “deciders,” it’s good to see so many conservative health care professionals running for Congress. These are people who have demanding careers, but they’ve decided they can no longer stay on the political sidelines.
Both the top two candidates in this week’s photo-finish TBF poll are health care providers who are determined to dismantle ObamaCare and replace it with real health care reform. Unfortunately, however, conservatives like Renee Ellmers and Dan Benishek can’t always rely on the GOP establishment for the support they need. Recent events have reminded us that conservative reform is a threat to the GOP establishment.
That’s why we must unite at the grassroots level to defeat statism. We have to invest our own resources in order to restore our freedom. Don’t wait for someone else to do it. Get involved now by giving money directly to a candidate who deserves your help. Including today, there are only 10 Fridays between now and the November elections. Conservatives all over the country urgently need our help. This Friday, please make a generous donation to Renee Ellmers.

I just made my donation… now it’s your turn!

Don’t forget to make a note of Ten Buck Fridays in the donation form.

Can this go on?

Here’s one cause.

And another.

And another.

It’s been brewing for a while.

And someone thinks it’s funny.

We’re not laughing.

Steve at Motor City Times has a great post today noting the similarities between today’s governmental encroachment on our freedoms, the bloated bureaucracy we deal with every day and the foreboding warnings from the father of our country.

I’ve written more than once on this very speech. George Washington was indeed a prophet and sayer of soothes.

As Steve points out:

On November 2nd, 2010, Americans will go to the polls for the most important mid-term election in years.  Politicians and professional punditry say this sort of thing every two years. However, things have changed.

With increasing frequency,  elected officials are acting less like representatives and more like members of a Junta.  Ask the Speaker of the House of Representatives where in the United States Constitution they get the authority to do X or Y and she scoffs at the question then arrogantly retorts with “are you serious?”

Yes, we are serious.

Damn skippy we are.

The founders studied these issues with an intensity we would do well to mimic and  strive to duplicate. Washington was prophetic in many things he spoke of in that speech. Almost every point he warned us of has come to pass.  As the Teacher points out in Ecclesiastes, “There is nothing new under the sun.” We would do well to remember this fact and to not discount the wisdom of the men who crafted this, the most unique and fair system of government ever conceived and implemented by man. So unique they believed as I do, that it was divinely inspired.

Steve has taken away several important points from Washington’s words that deserve your attention. Please take the time to read his reminder as to why we write and fight.

Matt, of Conservative Hideout fame has got to be the hardest working man in the blogosphere, next to R.S. McCain and Smitty of course. Over the last year and a half of the failed Obama administration’s regime he’s put together a definitive description of the trappings of Obamacare, and if you’re not aware, it isn’t pretty. I use the word “trappings” with purpose, because that is exactly what the monstrosity is, a trap sprung on a beguiled public who stood there with their hands out waiting for the benevolent dictator to “give them something, anything.” Well, what we all got is just another form of slavery. How ironic then, for the most racially driven president in our history, who likened himself to Lincoln on so many occasions to actually reverse the trend away from freedom and in effect enslave the entire population with so much debt and bureaucracy, much of which we are still waiting to be enacted.

I for one am working and praying for repeal of Obamacare, which is nothing more than a blasphemy of our Democratic Republican values.

These links will also be included in the resources on the Prime page along with the worthy links from other fine blogs and references.

Please take the time to thank Matt for his excellent work.

Over the past eleven months, a recurring theme of mine has been to ruminate on the perils of big government and what we can do to combat the over reaching arm of federal encroachments on our liberty and freedom. Since some of you are new to the blog, and since I transferred quite a few of those essays from the old site yesterday, I thought I would take the opportunity to point you to the “Prime” tab which will hold links to those essays for your reference.

As an introduction, in reverse order of appearance, here are ten essays on

The Perils of Big Government

Note also that within the “Prime” tab are what I consider to be some of the best writing by other bloggers I’ve run across in my travels. I don’t always have time or think of bookmarking a post so the list is a bit short for now. Most of my time online lately is focused on defeating the Godzilla of a government we’ve been growing, so if your wondrous work is absent, please take no offense at the omission, it may be that I simply haven’t read that particular work or wasn’t in a situation where I was able to make a note. Either way, the fault I’m sure, lies with me.

In addition to the random readings titled “From Other Blogs,” my friends at The Resistance have been very busy assembling valuable information for us to use and peruse. Those links will be posted on “Prime” also as they come available. I will try to make a note of when I make an addition to the “Prime” tab here on the front page but do check out that page from time to time as I may have forgotten to make note. They don’t call me “Mind-Numbed” for nothing.

Van Irion wins TBF poll!

Woo Hoo! My nominee won!

Not to gloat or anything. The other candidates are all very deserving, I’m sure. It’s just that, as Ruby Slippers says:

Anyone willing to clean the manure out of the Capitol and bring a lawsuit against ObamaCare has my support.

Right-on Ruby, Right-on!

As usual, RightKlik has an excellent article explaining Mr. Irion’s political positions and a great video of Van on Glenn Beck.

You know, now that I look, I see that I have yet to add RightKlik to my blogroll. How in the world could I let that slip by? Sorry about that omission RK, I’ll fix that error shortly. It will make a future installment of my Robo-Love Experiment in linking a bit more difficult fun and interesting, but I’m not one to back away from a challenge. Now let’s see, how to work “RightKlik” into a story line… Hmmmm.

Check you guys later. I’m off to make a donation and do a little blogrolling.

Cheers!

Worth watching again, and again.

Neither have I, but I like the way he thinks. He “gets it,” unlike most of his generation, in my experience. In his latest post, he outlines the subtle progressive infiltration of the AARP that we all know happened long ago but felt the subject was off limits to discuss for fear that Mom and Dad would disown us for wanting to cut their umbilical cords to Medicare. Sadly that was the tactic used to enslave them and us, and now we are seeing the progress and results of that particular blunder.

Trestin has written a fine piece, from a young man’s perspective, on the whole AARP, Social Security, Medicare travesty.

It can be found here.

Well done Trestin. Well done indeed.

There is still hope to be found in the youth of our country. Let’s endeavor to encourage right minded thought and action in them, for in the youth of our nation, lies our future.

We were speaking of lawsuits against ObamaCare, weren’t we?

Well, I was.

Right about the time I had a good drunken rant going I get news of  Van Irion, a Constitutionalist from Tennessee who has actually begun work on a Class Action Lawsuit against ObamaCare.

From the FAQ:

Q. What is the goal of the lawsuit?

A. The goal is to reverse the incorrect interpretation by the Supreme Court of the Commerce clause that allows Congress to regulate essentially every American enterprise. This will restore the 10th Amendment and restrain Congress. Without reversing this precedent, Congress will continue to believe they have the right to regulate our daily lives and will continue to produce onerous bills that do so.

I’ve signed on and do encourage every person of sanity to do the same. I might even encourage some of you insane types to sign up also. Obama’s version of your “treatment” might not be what you wish it to be.

Van Irion is running for the Republican Primary in Tennessee’s 3rd District. The vote is scheduled for August 5th.

I like what I just saw so I’m sharing it with you. Wish I was in Tennessee to vote for him. If you know someone who should see this, please pass it on.
