Motor City Times

UPDATE: One-Thousand Progressives, according to the PSN Letter to Obama Supporting Obamacare.

Our American society has never seen the level of corruption in evidence today. It’s as if some mind controlling parasites have infested and infiltrated every nook and cranny of our system. The deeper you go down the proverbial rabbit hole, the more tentacles you find. Across borders, oceans and economic systems it reaches to control your every movement and very existence. As an example, if you were to expound and expand on Obama, Pelosi and Reid’s new healthcare plan, they would wish to grant or deny even your right to exist, as evidenced by our federal government’s obsession with killing babies. Do any of you trust your government to the point of giving them control, Chairman Mao like, over the number of children you can have? Rest assured that a government that funds elective abortions of its citizens would jump at the chance to dictate your ability to procreate at all. That type of tyranny is one that would grant such rights by your political party affiliation or what amount of tribute you bring to their throne.

If you believe, as I do, that the Progressive/Socialist/Communist agenda is at its heart, an evil one, then you must also conclude that this movement must be stopped.

Enter the Progressive States Network. Ever heard of them?

The PSN is a network of Progressive organizations that share Obama’s goal of the “fundamental transformation of America.”

I’ve seen what that transformation looks like and I don’t like it.

How does it work?

Their plan is to introduce Progressive/Socialist legislation at the State and local levels in order to gain a foothold on those issues at the national level both in the media and in the federal legislature. In the process, they are grooming candidates for national office.

A primer:

Getting To Know Your Michigan Candidates

The Progressive States Network: What you need to know

Progressive States Network – Immigration

Progressive States Network: Distorting the Electoral Process?

The Progressive States Network: Undermining Liberty one State at a Time

The Progressive States Network: Exploiting the Crisis that Progressives Caused?

Progressive States Network: National Popular Vote

Popular Vote: By the Numbers

Lately, we bloggers have been focused on the national elections in our attempts to reclaim and restore our Constitutional Republic. The people who belong to the Progressive States Network are working against that goal at all levels.

Examples of the upwards activism the PSN pursues are their letters to Obama from our State legislators:

Supporting Federal Health Care Reform

State Legislators for Progressive Immigration Policy

Create Jobs, Give States Fiscal Relief

All three of these would sound innocuous to the normal Americans, but in reality, they are letters demanding that the Federal government become more involved in the States’ activities and our personal lives at a time when we need less Federal involvement in anything State or personal, with the exception of sealing the border.

From the “Jobs” letter:

…Accordingly, the federal government must take proactive steps to create jobs and enact further fiscal relief for state and local governments. This includes extending FMAP increases for Medicaid, providing additional support for education, boosting funding for infrastructure projects and public transportation investments, supporting the long-term unemployed to sustain them until they reenter the workforce, and providing direct financial assistance to state and local governments to perform the vital services needed to maintain growth in local communities across the nation…

Signing on to the “Jobs” letter from Texas are:

  • Rep. Garnet Coleman (TX-147) Co-chairman of the PSN Board of Directors. Garnet was quoted recently on the Marxist emag Political Affairs. Sadly, Rep. Coleman is unopposed.
  • Sen. Rodney Ellis (TX-13) Opponent:  Michael Mauldin
  • Rep. Jessica Farrar (TX-148) Opponent: Fernando Herrera
  • Rep. Eddie Rodriguez (TX-51) Opponent: Marilyn Jackson

Nowhere in that letter is any mention of tax cuts or pro-business incentives for job creation, unless you count their concern for the loss of jobs in government and social services.

Government has grown too large as it is! The people who would fight for more government and social programs over actual private enterprise and real economic growth must be ousted from office at every level of government, Federal, State and local. Failure to do so, is to leave a bit of cancer in the infected host.

Those wanting to increase government dependents have been drafting recruits while we worker bees have been busy paying for their campaign through taxes for years and recently, stimulus packages re-routed to ACORN type organizations. Obama type community organizers have been training Progressive recruits how to “help moderate members of Congress” by framing Progressive issues in “palatable” ways.

An example of from the Center for Progressive Leadership

Question: Why would I need to make an issue “palatable” if it will stand on its own merit?

Answer: Because it is a lie in need of sugar coating.

Progressives are Socialists are Communists and are by definition anti-American. It’s past time everyone was made aware of their existence and agenda.

I would encourage bloggers to research these letters and the people who signed them. Find their opponents and support them. Post them in lists by state on your blogs along with their opponents.

November is coming!

Socia.list

This weekend, I plan to create a new blog page similar to the Texas 11 that, beginning with Texas, will contain a list of the State Senators and Representatives who align themselves with the PSN, along with their opposing candidates if available.

The title of that page will be Socia.list.

Catchy, don’t you think?

If anyone would like to help with compiling that list, I wouldn’t argue.  Just send me a link or comment with your post’s url and after verifying, I’ll be happy to include it. BTW, Project Vote Smart is a valuable resource for finding that type of information.

UPDATE: My apologies to John Carey of  The Current for not giving him the proper credit for bringing this group to my attention.

Also, No Sheeples Here’s proprietor extraordinaire, Carol has created a video that echos the message in this post.

Thanks to Pundit & Pundette for the feature! Welcome P & P readers!

Happy Labor Day Weekend comrades!

Here’s a little roundup of great posts from the Robo-Reading List to help you through the next few days.

First, Carol of No Sheeples Here is participating in Project 2996, which for her part she honors the slain of 9/11/2001 with a tribute a day until Sept. 11. A very touching way to remember the heroes of that day who lost their lives. Carol’s blog has been featured blog this week, so please be sure to visit her site and let her know that an imaginary robot does indeed dream of electric sheep. Thank you.

As a side note, I’m considering changing the title of “Featured Blog” to “Honorary Android” or something close like “Android Army.” What do you think? Suggestions?

Next up is the blogosphere’s very own Stacy McCain, who truly earns the  title of “Roving Reporter” this week by traveling all the way to Alaska to cover some Republican primary or something. I think Joe Miller’s name came up at some point. While he was in the neighborhood, he stopped in to check on the Palin family.

As Red said, “How freaking cool is this?”

Speaking of my favorite redhead, she and the crew of Corndog are in the process of making the move to Texas and could use a little help for the U-Haul. Drop by over there and throw a couple of bucks in the tip jar.

So, one half of The Other McCain is off playing world traveler, rubbing elbows and rattling the tip jar no doubt trying to get enough shoe leather funds for a ride home, while Smitty, the balder and sometimes bolder half is covering everything else it would seem. Some highlights:

Recovery Summer?

Delaware Castle?

NYC GZM?

Social Conservatism?

SOS: Sissypuss, Obama, And Skippy

Staying on the election theme, my Jersey buddy Russ, the constant campaigner has been working his arse off for another favorite of mine, Anna Little who is up against some huge opposition in the form of Frank Pallone. Russ exudes confidence in his post over at The Resistance:

I’m telling you right now, as you sit there, that this is the single biggest House electoral upset in history in the making.

Just a sample of what we’re up against:

  • 22-year hard progressive incumbent (proud author of PalloneCare and cap-and-trade)
  • $4 million warchest (the richest in the house)
  • 2 to 1 D to R demographic in the 6th District (34-17)
  • Ridiculously gerrymandered District intended solely to keep Frank Pallone in office (just look at it sometime)

But we’re gonna win.

Here’s a link to Anna’s donation page. It takes money to win these campaigns folks. Either we give now to the candidates who will fight the beast or the beast will take your money anyway to redistribute as they see fit. The choice is yours.

I must add that all of the above causes are ones I consider most worthy. I wouldn’t recommend a donation to someone I haven’t personally donated to myself.

Now for something more light-hearted, The Troglopundit attempts to overcome yesterday’s Eva Mendes hotness with a single Megan Fox pic. Weak, my friend, weak, but still hot!

Lance also asks a relevant question.

Little Miss Attila brings up a good point about Chuck Norris:

Of course, there’s the issue of whether we should be listening to a guy who loses his damn gun in every single movie he’s in . . .

Then again, he is Chuck Norris, why would he be carrying a gun if not to lose it for the plot line?

Ha! I just used “Chuck Norris” and “plot line” in the same sentence. Where’s my award?

Bluegar. ROTFL Cougar. Bluegar. Whatever, watch the vid.

How does one spell “Bluegar” anyway?

Ruby Slippers points us to Dallas, TX Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson’s apparent mis-allocation of funds to her own relatives and the poor job she puts forth in defense of her actions.

Since 2005 Johnson has awarded a total of 23 scholarships to family members.Johnson additionally awarded scholarships to 5 other students who did not meet the residency requirements specified by the nonprofit Congressional Black Caucus Foundation

Eddie Bernice Johnson is also pointed out on this blog’s Texas 11 page, which  highlights the 11 Texas Representatives who voted for Obamacare, but the main reason for that page is not just to highlight those Socialist scumbags but to call attention to their opponents. Eddie B. Johnson’s opponent is the most worthy Stephen Broden, a Constitutional Conservative who has been a featured guest on the Glenn Beck Show on several occasions and who I believe spoke at the Restoring Honor Rally in D.C. last weekend with Dr. Alveda King although I did not see that part personally.

Hmmm, I think I just found a nomination for next weeks Ten Buck Fridays poll. Steven Broden!

Well, if you insist.

Blogspot

There once was a somewhat shy *cough* never outspoken *hack* designer/drummer *blech* who could no longer withhold his views from the world, or at least the few people outside his circle of friends who might listen to those opinions. He felt compelled to begin an online journal to hopefully spare some of his close friends from the verbal outrage at what was happening in America. Once started on that journal, it soon became a journey, to where no-one knows, but for now has been a source of developing friendships and personal edification that he will never forget or regret.

I, being he, have met some fine patriotic people online in the blogging community and have come in contact through their writings with many more whom I probably will never have the opportunity to meet. That is no fault of any one, it’s just an observance that the number of conservative bloggers is growing. This is a good thing. I love it.

Unlike Stacy McCain, of The Other McCain, I have no aspirations of taking over the entire blogosphere, though I certainly don’t hold it against him that he wishes to do so. More power to you Stacy. I simply want to add my voice to the many who are crying out that our government has been transformed from its original purpose and was/is being further transformed in an exponentially quicker pace into the monster our Founders warned us against. That fight still remains. To what end is a matter on which I pray daily. Can I get an Amen?

I’m happy you have all accepted my quirky, jerky, rambling attempts at humor and hopefully motivational or educational essays and rants. You really know how to make an abby-normal guy feel welcome. As Carol of No Sheeples Here likes to say, I’m proud to be standing guard over liberty with all of you.

Thinking on how to commemorate the first anniversary of my online life, I thought I might trace back and find a few highlights to share with you. A sort of naked baby pictures type of thing, except without the baby, or the naked.

OK, some will be babes, and some will be nearly naked.

Looking at the stat counter at the old site, I see the most popular post was a video found at iOwnTheWorld that is still the funniest takeoff of Babes in Toyland I’ve ever seen. iOwnTheWorld also gave the Robot a huge present on Christmas Day by linking their entire graphic to the Robot. I know they didn’t have to do that and was nearly glued to the site meter Christmas Day watching the hits come in. What a freaking nerd I am. 🙂

Thank You, iOwnTheWorld.

Speaking of babes, coming in a close second was a post titled Christina Hendricks vs Adriana Lima vs Megan Fox, which, now that I’ve linked it again here, all you babe watchers will hit it some more and possibly bump it past the other post. Sex does sell. I’ve learned this fact from Stacy McCain’s post on How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog in Less Than a Year. Yes, folks, Rule 5 is alive and well at Mind-Numbed Robot, and is sitting on the porch, drinking a beer, watching the babes go by thankyouverymuch.

The third most popular post from the other site was a quickie from an email which happened to include some more hotness. It was picked up by The Dailey Gator and Bob Belvedere and was entitled License For Your House Included in Cap and Tax!

If I had to pick, the one post from the old site that gave me the most satisfaction was Reclaiming the American Spirit which was picked up and quoted from again by Bob, along with dozens of other bloggers who were shouting against the tyranny taking place in the form of Health Care Reform. I remember the pride I felt being included in the company of those proud patriots, knowing in my heart the love of freedom we all feel and the anger and desperation we all had at that very moment. I know we still do, but this is a happy day, right? RIGHT!?

The fourth most popular post from the old site was a few nice ladies holding flags. What could be so menacing? I felt like it was linked by damn near the entire blogiverse, including The Troglopundit, Obi’s Sister, The Daley Gator, The Other McCain, Fishersville Mike and American Power.

Almost everywhere that is, except Instapundit, as Lance noted in one of the more backhandedly selfish comments I’ve seen at the Robot:

Could somebody get this guy an Instalance, please? I could use the instaseconds.

Ha! That Troglopundit. What a card. Always hitching a ride on someone else’s train. But who am I to judge? It seems to be working for him. Maybe one day I’ll have the opportunity to buy my favorite unfrozen caveman a beer.

Dot Com…

The Robot moved to the new digs on April 26 this year. Four months ago. The old site had 9,400 unique visits according to Sitemeter at the time. I have no idea if that’s good, bad or what in the big scheme of things. Since the move the traffic has tripled and I have no doubt that it’s due to the help from my friends at The Resistance: Steve, Matt, Mike, Doug, Chris and the ever campaigning Russ. Not to mention my fellow Gulf Coast neighbors Jeffrey and Red. Thank you guys for the links and encouragement.

The top four posts on the new site so far are:

  1. Daisy Fuentes Pictures Day– for obvious reasons.
  2. Rule 5 Saturday – Julia Stiles – see above.
  3. Someone Said This Was Funny– someone on Stumbleupon loves this pic. Someone else on Stumbleupon hates this pic. I tell you what, Bub, I hate it too, but not because its defaming your favorite President.
  4. Dennis Prager Q & A At University of Denver– a great lesson. The great lesson? Certainly one of them.

My personal favorite posts from the past four months were the Robo-Love Experiments #1, #2 & #3. Of the 3 I like the third the best. They were a lot of fun and a challenge at the same time, even if, as Belvedere says, I need help with my naming conventions.

I’m over a thousand words now in what was going to be a quick “thank you for your support” post, and I’m sure I missed a bunch of folks who need a good thanking, including the frequent commenters like  Bunni, Opie and Georges.

If I missed you, please feel free to cajole your spouse, significant other or some bum on the street to give you a solid thanking for me, right smack on the backside, where you’ll remember it.

Thanks again for visiting the Robot. It’s been a memorable first year. I’m proud to be among you who will stand up and say No More!

Tomorrow it’s back to the trenches for me. In the mean time, show some Robo-Love and BUY A FREAKIN’ T-SHIRT!

Or, as Stacy and Smitty like to say, HIT THE TIP JAR!

Cheers! ~ ‘Bot

Oh, and look what Bob gave me, gee, just what I always wanted. Kari Byron portraying Freddie Kruger.

Thanks Bob. I’ll cherish her as long as I live, which may not be long. This is like owning a toy that can’t be toyed with. Something tells me your female offspring are to be feared, my friend.

That contraption on her hand says she’ll do the popping of these balloons, don’t you know.

Oversight Update:

Conservative Perspective

——————————————————

Someone taught me how to treat my friends.

This just may qualify for a Rule 5 posting. Tune in Sunday to find out!

Please enjoy the music while your constitution and country are destroyed from within. Thank you.

Steve at Motor City Times has a great post today noting the similarities between today’s governmental encroachment on our freedoms, the bloated bureaucracy we deal with every day and the foreboding warnings from the father of our country.

I’ve written more than once on this very speech. George Washington was indeed a prophet and sayer of soothes.

As Steve points out:

On November 2nd, 2010, Americans will go to the polls for the most important mid-term election in years.  Politicians and professional punditry say this sort of thing every two years. However, things have changed.

With increasing frequency,  elected officials are acting less like representatives and more like members of a Junta.  Ask the Speaker of the House of Representatives where in the United States Constitution they get the authority to do X or Y and she scoffs at the question then arrogantly retorts with “are you serious?”

Yes, we are serious.

Damn skippy we are.

The founders studied these issues with an intensity we would do well to mimic and  strive to duplicate. Washington was prophetic in many things he spoke of in that speech. Almost every point he warned us of has come to pass.  As the Teacher points out in Ecclesiastes, “There is nothing new under the sun.” We would do well to remember this fact and to not discount the wisdom of the men who crafted this, the most unique and fair system of government ever conceived and implemented by man. So unique they believed as I do, that it was divinely inspired.

Steve has taken away several important points from Washington’s words that deserve your attention. Please take the time to read his reminder as to why we write and fight.

One doesn’t need to look far when searching for tangible results of Democrat social policy. As a matter of fact, you need only look to Detroit for a prime example of liberal social engineering and the destructive effect it has on a city. Once a thriving economy, Detroit has sadly become the poster child for “What Not to Do” when it comes to government, as Steve from Motor City Times tells us in this collection of posts documenting the once vibrant manufacturing center’s destruction by a government under 50 years of Liberal Democrat control.

Let’s not let this happen to America as a whole. Let’s learn the lessons of Detroit.
