We know it will happen one day. It’s inevitable that a hard drive will fail. I’ve been noticing the tell-tale signs lately. Slow performance, locked up browsers and programs, it all boils down to gremlins in the works.
Add to that a friend coming in for the weekend whom I haven’t seen in a while and the result is going to be erratic and sporadic posting this weekend. I’ll send you a picture every now and again of whatever adult beverage happens to be in my hand at the moment.
But all the revelry must wait, because now there is a chore to be tackled, a battle to be won, a hard drive must be mirrored and replaced and there’s a jungle of wires and bytes to be fought and overcome.
Cover me.
I’m going in…
I hope you get it fixed. Have a fun weekend, Robot. I hope you and your friend have lots of fun. Be careful in the jungle.
Don’t let the mud wash off of your face. The predators can’t see your heat signature through the mud.
Robo: There’s a reason they’re called “hard”. Heh
I’ve got your six but in the meantime you might want to check out Mozy dot com to back up all your bidness.
Yeah! It is done. Not too bad at all, considering I went from an ATA to a SATA and cleaned out two old drives while I was at it.
Red, I use a usb external drive and space on another internal drive for my operating system. I need to buy another external to alternate between the three.
I use a backup program called Acronis. It works great. No monthly fees.
Now if only my out of town friend would get here, we’d be off to Kinder for some blackjack. 🙂
