US Constitution
Don’t you think with Obama’s economy, those new job seekers are going to need all the help they can get? Aren’t there more important issues for a federal judge to be concerned with?
Apparently not.
Peter Morrison is fired up about it in his latest report:
Just last week, a federal tyrant threatened the Texas Senate with grounding all flights in Texas if the anti-groping bill was passed. Yesterday another federal tyrant, an unelected appointed-for-life federal judge named Fred Biery, banned any and all prayer at the Medina Valley ISD graduation ceremonies.
He went as far as to order students and administration that they could not use words like “prayer,” or “bow their heads,” or “amen” upon penalty of jail time for contempt of court.
Folks, it doesn’t get any more outrageous than this. There’s only one real solution: civil disobedience by students at the Medina Valley ISD graduation, followed by interposition and nullification of the judge’s order by the governor. The sovereign state should interpose itself between the tyrant and its citizens to prevent abuses of the Constitution, and nullify this judge’s unconstitutional order. It’s the only solution that preserves the students’ rights in time for their graduation.
Rick Perry talks a good talk about protecting state’s rights. This is where the rubber meets the road. Governor Perry should order state troopers and other law enforcement personnel to protect the administration and students of Medina Valley ISD from arrest. Furthermore, this federal judge ought to be tried for unlawful assaults and threats. If I illegally threatened to kidnap and jail someone for praying in public, that would be a crime, and it’s the same crime even if it’s done by an unelected tyrant in a black robe.
Take action:
Please send a fax to Governor Perry asking him to use every resource of the state to protect these students’ civil rights:

You know, last time I checked, the First Amendment provides us with freedom of religion, to worship in the manner of our choosing, not freedom from religion. No one in the graduation audience will be forced to pray. I promise. If you don’t want to, then don’t. Go get a beverage or a souvenir. Or you could just stand there and politely keep your yap shut for a moment. The Muslim terrorists in Gitmo have more religious freedom than those on the left would allow our students.
They don’t hate any God. The left hates the Christian God.

Just now, on a dare by The republican Mother, I took a civics quiz on America and the ideals of her founding and happily did better than expected:
You answered 28 out of 33 correctly — 84.85 %
but not as well as I should have. What is scary is, I, an ordinary citizen robot, did much better than our average elected official.
for those who had held elected office it was 44%
Of course, The republican Mother scored higher than I. That was to be expected.
Take the quiz yourself to see if you are smarter than an elected official, then, get a fifth grader to take it. I bet the fifth grader beats them too.
Well, as close to here as I can be and not actually be here. This is a drive by post, really.
Work has been kicking my butt lately so I’m obviously not posting as much. I am however working on updating the US Timeline page in my spare time and yesterday added some new entries mentioned in an outstanding post over at Fuzzy Logic. I’m also working to add a few more later this evening or tomorrow. The rueful thing is, there are ever more additions to make to the list.
Meanwhile, my friend Steve sent me some musical pron that I just have to share. Some Rule 5 in the form of Meytal Cohen.
This chick rocks! Check it out:
What is Rule 5 you ask?
The Other McCain’s Sunday roundup offers a pretty broad example.

This is what standing up for what you believe in looks like.
Fortunately the school officials came to their senses after calls from all over the world including Afghanistan.
Yea. You read that right. It took calls from Afghanistan(!) amongst other places to reverse this lunacy.
Witness what happens when American Patriots learn you were removed of your First Amendment rights.
God bless all of you who participated in that show of support.

Somewhere on America’s left coast, behind the lines, stands one of the last bastions of hope for Conservative principles in California. A refuge for lovers of liberty who find themselves stuck in a beautiful landscape that hypnotizes all but the strong minded, luring them into a deadly world of Socialist thought that sucks the pride of self reliance from their minds and clouds it with the promise of unearned entitlements. That Fortress of Freedom is the blog American Power, and the luminary of that site is Professor Donald Douglas.
I’m often amazed at the tenacity required to produce the volume of quality articles and insightful commentary published by Prof. Douglas. Articles that are surely produced from an unquenchable love of America’s founding principles and a fire that grows brighter and stronger when fueled by the inane and asinine arguments of the liberal and socialistic pseudo-elites we battle today.
Professor Douglas, I’m certainly thankful you can withstand what must be a daily onslaught of leftist dogma evidenced in California these last couple of decades. Thank you for fighting against it with reason, truth and humor.
We need battalions of such educators in our schools to teach the truth of American exceptionalism.
Whatever you think of him, these facts are undeniable; the man behind American Power Blog is a tireless defender of freedom, of the virtues of liberty and a true American patriot. Which is why I’ve chosen American Power as the Robot’s latest Featured Blog.
Like your humble robot, Prof. Douglas is a music lover as well and possesses a diverse taste that spans the spectrum from punk rock to rap and hip-hop to pop and classic rock. I’ve found several new bands from visits to American Power and been reminded of some I’d forgotten.
I must also admit to sharing his affinity for Gods most favored creatures. We need a break from the punditry every now and then and the lovely ladies featured on his site rival those to be found anywhere, be it here on this site, or the glitzy runways of New York.
Be sure to bookmark and blogroll American Power.

Jeez, the guy is everywhere! Maybe that’s why he is fortunate enough to hang out with like minded freedom fighters like Pamela Geller.
Whatever it is you’re doing, Sir. Keep on keepin’ on. You’ve definitely got an admirer in this Texas robot.
Cheers!
Goes to the blogger known as Editor, who operates the blog Spellchek. Editor has written a very good piece in which he asks us to compare liberty as it existed in 1776 to the “liberty” we experience in America today.
An excerpt:
By any measure, we now live under a shadow of what liberty once was. Everything is relative and we accept a much lower standard to still call us free. The Constitution is now called outdated. We are told our society has evolved and that the principles outlined in the Constitution no longer apply to a modern society. All of these scenarios were pre-warned by the Founders. They wrote it down. They relayed it in speeches. This is why many are so incredulous that this is happening to our country today. The warnings were issued and history has shown us that the template has been followed to a tee. Of course, today we have an astounding wealth of information at our fingertips about the subject, yet it is still a debate.
How is it that we still debate the definition of liberty? Our government and educational system have done us all a grave disservice by ceasing to teach the principles upon which this country was founded. Yet there are still those who understand what true liberty means and the threats it must endure.
Liberty will never exist unmolested. The more free we are, the more some will want to take it away. It was never a matter of declaring it and just being done with it. So many of us have no concept of what true liberty is or ever was…
Editor then explores a short scenario of what it may take to regain the liberty as defined by the Founders in our Constitution. An excellent read indeed. But don’t take my word for it.

What do you think the Second Amendment is for? Stephen Broden was interviewed by CBS and appeared to back away from some earlier statements he made while stating a violent uprising “is not the first option,“ but it is ”on the table.”
Here’s a comment I left at Bonzai from the Right, who has the video:
I’m disappointed that Pastor Broden is backing away from his earlier statements. (Or is that a bit of clever video editing?) He was right! I’m also surprised that no-one is bringing up the fact that the threat of a violent uprising is exactly why we have a Second Amendment. Take violence off the table and you have surrendered. That being said, violence is and should be, a last resort, after all constitutional measures are exhausted.
I also think, on the other hand, Mark Adams may be correct in his prediction. Either way, it doesn’t bode well for civil society.
In the coming days, the left will do all they can to paint Pastor Broden as extreme. Knowing that, let me ask you, does this woman look like an extremist to you?
