Political Correctness

Don’t you think with Obama’s economy, those new job seekers are going to need all the help they can get? Aren’t there more important issues for a federal judge to be concerned with?

Apparently not.

Chief U.S. District Judge Fred Biery’s order against the Medina Valley Independent School District also forbids students from using specific religious words including “prayer” and “amen.”

Peter Morrison is fired up about it in his latest report:

Just last week, a federal tyrant threatened the Texas Senate with grounding all flights in Texas if the anti-groping bill was passed. Yesterday another federal tyrant, an unelected appointed-for-life federal judge named Fred Biery, banned any and all prayer at the Medina Valley ISD graduation ceremonies.

He went as far as to order students and administration that they could not use words like “prayer,” or “bow their heads,” or “amen” upon penalty of jail time for contempt of court.

Folks, it doesn’t get any more outrageous than this. There’s only one real solution: civil disobedience by students at the Medina Valley ISD graduation, followed by interposition and nullification of the judge’s order by the governor. The sovereign state should interpose itself between the tyrant and its citizens to prevent abuses of the Constitution, and nullify this judge’s unconstitutional order. It’s the only solution that preserves the students’ rights in time for their graduation.

Rick Perry talks a good talk about protecting state’s rights. This is where the rubber meets the road. Governor Perry should order state troopers and other law enforcement personnel to protect the administration and students of Medina Valley ISD from arrest. Furthermore, this federal judge ought to be tried for unlawful assaults and threats. If I illegally threatened to kidnap and jail someone for praying in public, that would be a crime, and it’s the same crime even if it’s done by an unelected tyrant in a black robe.

Take action:

Please send a fax to Governor Perry asking him to use every resource of the state to protect these students’ civil rights:

You know, last time I checked, the First Amendment provides us with freedom of religion, to worship in the manner of our choosing, not freedom from religion. No one in the graduation audience will be forced to pray. I promise. If you don’t want to, then don’t. Go get a beverage or a souvenir. Or you could just stand there and politely keep your yap shut for a moment. The Muslim terrorists in Gitmo have more religious freedom than those on the left would allow our students.

They don’t hate any God. The left hates the Christian God.

Yes. For some reason, it seems we need to.

The coming 2012 election should not be framed in ideology of Right versus Left, Republican vs. Democrat or Libertarian/Conservative vs. Liberal.

The main issue of this election is whether we the people of this country choose to enslave our neighbors using the machinery of mob rule democracy or reclaim our lost liberties and return to the original intent of our Constitutional Republic. That is the issue.

Either you are an asset to society or you are a burden on it.

The 2012 election should be framed in light of the government’s unbridled over-expansion. Today, the US government in engaged in an unhinged, un-American mission to encourage sloth and preach entitlement theology, enabled and encouraged by the uninformed citizen and the educated elitist alike while funding the assault on the backs of the very people they prostitute but claim to protect: the everyday American.

This is but one example from The Heritage Foundation 2011 Budget Chart Book

The world the Statists would establish is one of dependency on government as a patriarch who makes even the most mundane decisions for us and therefore, as a child of government, we will have no rights or property except what illusion they would allow.

This election is about American versus un-American.

It’s about Freedom versus Slavery.

I’ve been thinking along these lines for a while. After all, what is governmental redistribution of wealth but slavery? But the possibility that there may be more people in this country who are against America as founded than are for it really hit home when I saw this retweeted from Pat Dollard last week:

@MerlePearl Merle

Scary, but true. RT @PatDollard If Obama wins the next election, then there aren’t enough Americans left for it to be America anymore.

To which I replied:

Too true. Unfortunate as well is, that knowledge could serve to energize either base.

Have too many Americans forgotten what it means to be uniquely American?

It’s a bit terrifying to me that we’ve come this far down the road to Socialism, Communism or Statism. Call it what you will, but the America we thought we knew is teetering on the precipice of a debt cliff caused by overspending on unearned entitlements. If it is not reversed, America simply can not survive. No country can, or ever has when using the economic model being employed.

It’s as if there is some genetic defect that keeps mutating every generation, eating away at our Self Reliance Gene. Everywhere you look, before acting, (pod) people stop and ask themselves what kind of government subsidy can they get for doing A, B or C or what entity they need approval from to do X, Y or Z, or boast to a co-worker about how much Uncle Sam gave him for his clunker or how much they received from some other such government incentive program. Where do you think that money comes from?

It is through slow, methodical, generational training that you feel these things are normal.

Once upon a glorious free country, you needed only the approval of your heart and a fearless ambition to pursue whatever you set in your mind to. As long as no-one else or their property was harmed, then by all means, go ahead. You were free to succeed and free also to fail. Now, that freedom to act at will has been taken from us. We must get a permit to do just about anything. Someone or some entity must approve of your plans before you can break ground on a homestead, start a business or attempt to market your latest invention, all under the guise of government knowing better than you. Slowly, generation by generation, the evil that is an unrestrained government has eaten away at the American foundation of self reliance.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

C. S. Lewis
English essayist & juvenile novelist (1898 – 1963)

Make no mistake folks, this election is about the survival of America as she was founded.

It will be the single most important election in which you ever will cast a vote. America lives or dies in 2012. This election is about defining what it means to be an American. The true definition of an American has been gerrymandered and perverted by the media, in legislation and regulation and in the halls of “higher education.”

“Concentrated power is not rendered harmless by the good intentions of those who create it.”
Milton Friedman

The true definition of an American has been diluted by diversity and diffused by political correctness. Our defining characteristic, what makes us Americans, has in some cases been stolen along with our dignity. We must reclaim our pride in our American heritage and reassert our love of liberty by standing up to the detractors, the apologists, the America haters and the would be en-slavers.

This election is about American self reliance versus forced servitude. It is also about framing the question as such.

The good news is that, according to the Obama administration, the rich will pay for everything. The bad news is that, according to the Obama administration, you’re rich.
P. J. O’Rourke

It is un-American to take from your neighbor so that you may have what he doesn’t.

It is also un-American to take from someone who works so that you don’t have to. Right now there are working class people who toil away at their jobs under threat of losing their livelihood if they show up late, fail a drug test, are insubordinate to their employer or any number of prerequisites for employment while at the same time, the people who benefit from those stolen monies are not required to adhere to any such standards. That is un-American to its core. It is also thievery.

In America today one can’t get a decent job without background checks and drug tests and aptitude tests and any number of requirements for employment. It’s a circus of flaming hoops, but we do it because we love our families, we still have our pride and we need to make money to survive. What pride the takers once had, they exchanged for a welfare check or a stack of food stamps and a cell phone at the behest of a ‘benevolent’ government. Without renouncing their selfish attitude, is there any question to what they will vote for? They will vote for more of your money and they will do so because of generational training.

These people are our brothers and sisters. They are our fellow Americans. They don’t desire our pity, nor would we grant them any. They have simply lost their feeling of self worth and may not even be aware of it. I believe some of them deep down, know or suspect the wrong they are doing, the harm they inflict on their own country, but peer pressure and the entitlement culture beckon them to stay in the fold. Sadly, the ultimate irony is, the problem was created by the very bureaucrats they vote to keep in office, urged to do so by demagogue leaders willing to sell them down the road to maintain their own minor pedestals of power. It is a fact that inequity exists in the American system, truly, it exists in all governments to some degree, but one cannot legislate equality of outcome, only equality of opportunity. That is the promise of America’s Constitution.

That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well.
Abraham Lincoln

When the politicians and political hypochondriacs scream that some true libertarian/conservative wants to end Social Security or that the TEA Party wants to kill grandma or end some so-called entitlement, they are selling all Americans into slavery, plain and simple.

We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.
Abraham Lincoln

It’s time for Americans to re-claim what it means to be a true American.

Instead of thinking “What is government going to give me?” (What can I take from my neighbor?), we need to think about what we can do for our neighbors.

Like the Founders before us, we can give them freedom. It’s up to all of us to keep it.

That is what it means to be a true American.

A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.

Gerald Ford

This is what standing up for what you believe in looks like.

Fortunately the school officials came to their senses after calls from all over the world including Afghanistan.

Yea. You read that right. It took calls from Afghanistan(!) amongst other places to reverse this lunacy.

Witness what happens when American Patriots learn you were removed of your First Amendment rights.

UPDATE II: Thanks Proof for the proofreading.

These are not mis-speaks. This is the thinking of the Obama regime.

I think this video should be viral. If you agree, then share it!

UPDATE: Beck produced this video in response to the smear tactics the left uses against Conservative candidates they are scared of such as Christine O’Donnell. They are using an off the cuff admission from Christine that she dabbled in witchcraft while a teenager in high school. Hmmm.

And now the Wiccans are getting their feelings hurt! How does that happen?

Wasn’t Mrs. Obummer introduced by a Wiccan at a fund raiser this weekend? Maybe O’Donnell should court the Wiccan vote a little more closely. ~ Nah.

Also, from the comments over at Riehl World View:

And don’t forget Obama’s first Social Secretary’s voodoo connection (which is probably how Obama got elected):

WSJ: “Desirée Glapion Rogers is the descendant of a Creole voodoo priestess named Marie Laveau Glapion…”
http://magazine.wsj.com/features/the-big-interview/desiree-rogers/

I’m never surprised by the depths the left will stoop to disparage an opponent. Never mind the fact that O’Donnell has since been led to Christ and is a devout Christian.

Oh. Wait. Never mind.

Also not to be missed, Carol over at No Sheeples Here has produced another outstanding piece of artistic snark you must see, so I liberated it from it’s digital bonds to decorate this wall.

I’ve recently read several bloggers posting in what can only be described as another one of those “I’m a Libertarian and anyone who criticizes Libertarians, no matter how stupid those Libertarians acted, is a big fat poopy head” arguments. The funny thing was the topic wasn’t even Libertarians in general. The topic was the California gay marriage ruling by some wacko homosexual activist judge.

There are a few points missing from your arguments. I’ll start with those.

1: James Madison, the Father of our Constitution, clarified the authority of the federal government in the Federalist Papers #45: “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined.”

The Federal Government is growing beyond our control. This is the leviathan we fight. Define it as that. Our problem is with the Federal Government, if you have a problem in your State, battle it in your State either now or after the fight to get the Federal Government reeled back in.

2: Madison continues: “Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.”

Remember that line?

What part of numerous and indefinite don’t you understand? It’s mighty convenient for someone to spout off about “The State” when “The States” might just be our knights in shining armor that begin the march away from Socialism and against the Federal encroachment that (can we agree?) the Federal Government  has been pursuing.

3: Don’t confuse 1 & 2 and don’t paint them as equal. Over generalization doesn’t suit you. You’re smarter than that, and besides, aren’t we trying to restore some semblance of a Constitutional Republic?

I thought we were.

On the gay marriage issue: You know, the one that started the whole thing?

The California ruling by an openly homosexual and obviously activist judge struck down, for the SECOND time, a public vote (the very basis of our Constitutional Republic) against gay marriage. This is no small pittance of an issue but seems to be disregarded in all defenses of Libertarians for Gayness. I’ll state my views now and let the chips fall as they may.

I’m against “gay marriage” and all that comes with it. Reason being is that it is nothing more than another attempt to legitimize and promote an abhorrent activity. The gays and lesbians have used this issue and others to infiltrate our school system with the indoctrination of our children along with Hollywood and the media and their incessant promotion of the “alternative lifestyle” that if any of their parents had practiced, they would not be here to promote in the first place.

Let me state the freaking obvious for all of you who wish to quote me. There is an argument against homosexuality that stares you in the face each and every day. That argument is called anatomy and reproduction. Without the male and female sexes being different and shall we say, “accommodating” by design, uniting to produce a another human being, or procreation, would not be possible, much to the chagrin of the leaders and activists in the gay and lesbian community who would like nothing more than to promote the homosexual lifestyle to our children as legitimate. Perhaps in the glorious future it will be possible for us lowly humans to reproduce asexually, but we can’t right now, thank God. This is just one facet of the fight and you didn’t even address it!

I don’t care what someone does in the privacy of their own home, but this issue to me is about our children and the left’s attempt to sell homosexuality as a legitimate lifestyle. It is not, in my mind, legitimate, I would rather let the child grow up to make up their own mind, not influenced by some pre-indoctrination from the schools or the government or the media in general. This stance is not so much anti-homosexual as it is pro-creation.

If someone continues to sidetrack these issues, your arguments will no longer hold water with me. I don’t care what political bent you side yourself with, if you would support those who would promote a lifestyle that denies the very basics of human nature and design, then you are on the wrong side of the issue.

Likewise you’d better subject yourself to the same scrutiny that you apply to others when you accuse some brother in the fight of using over generalizations and ad-homonym attacks against your particular ism.

You have done yourselves a disservice in my eyes. Maybe I’m the only one who holds that opinion, but I don’t think so. I encourage you to re-read the entire exchange. The topic quickly went from a legitimate rant about an activist judge ruling against the will of the voters to some defense of Libertarianism in general, which was taken somewhat out of context with the discussion at hand.

Something was in the water that few days is all I know. The usually well reasoned folks I’ve come to respect had gone off and created some weird-ass feud as if we don’t have an enemy already. Grow up people. Not everyone is impugning your particular point of view and no-one would know of your bias unless you opened your own blog and removed all doubt.

The funny thing to me  in reading the rebuttals was, like I said, the original bitch got thrown out of the kennel, roaming free in the woods to breed some more while some of the would-be handlers got caught in the pen, arguing about what type of dog food is best for the pack.

I’m an admitted newcomer to your particular blogging party, but I’m no idiot and I can call out inconsistency when I see it.

Police yourselves people, and remember whose side we are on and who and what it is we are fighting for.

And BTW, marriage hasn’t always been sanctioned by religion, but it has nearly always been a legal contract and as a contract, if it is broken, bears legal consequences as to possessions and the rights of children etc. Who is going to preside over the separation and subsequent issues of ownership and custody if not the State or some local form of government?

A few days ago I received a link to a video of Morgan Freeman chatting with Mike Wallace about race. I like Mr. Freeman’s answer very much. Aren’t we all just people?

I was reminded of Mr. Freeman’s comments today when I read the current issue of The Peter Morrison Report. Peter has written a very courageous piece this week and should be commended for taking a stand on this important issue. Racism should be stamped out, no matter what side of the fence it originates from.

End Racial Preferences in Texas‏

Affirmative action, racial quotas and racial preferences are grossly unfair and blatantly unconstitutional, but they have now become standard operation procedure. Our schools, businesses and local, state and federal government agencies are engaged in a massive campaign of discrimination against the majority of Americans, simply because they’re white. If we don’t put a stop to this now, with America’s rapidly shifting demographics, it may soon be too late, and our children and grandchildren will be permanent second class citizens in the country their forefathers built.

Send a fax to Governor Rick Perry, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst and Speaker of the Texas House Joe Straus and tell them to put a stop to all quotas, set asides, affirmative action and all other forms of racial preferences in Texas.

Full report after the break.

Pamela Geller, who is leading the fight against the ground zero mosque in New York, has posted the following letter from Tom Burnett Senior.

To our fellow 9/11 families and to all who are concerned about the Ground Zero mega-mosque in New York:

We want everyone to know that the Park Service is right now building an even larger Islamic victory mosque atop the Flight 93 crash site. Many of you were outraged in 2005 when the Crescent of Embrace design was unveiled to be a half-mile wide Islamic shaped crescent:

Crescent publicity shot and Islamic crescent and star
Left: 2005 publicity shot of the Crescent of Embrace design. Right: typical Islamic crescent and star, viewed from a similar angle.

Few people know that this giant crescent actually points to Mecca, or understand the religious significance of this orientation. A crescent that points the direction to Mecca is a very familiar construct in the Islamic world. Because Muslims face Mecca for prayer, every mosque is built around a Mecca direction indicator called a mihrab. The classic mihrab is crescent shaped. Here are the two most famous mihrabs in the world:

Crescent publicity shot and Islamic crescent and star
Left: the Mihrab of the Prophet, at the Prophet’s mosque in Medina. Right: the mihrab of the Great Mosque in Cordoba Spain.

Face into the crescent to face Mecca

As with the Medina and Cordoba mihrabs, a person facing into the Crescent of Embrace will be facing Mecca. In the image below, superimposed red lines show the orientation of the Flight 93 crescent. The green qibla circle is from an online Mecca-direction calculator:

60%SizeMeccaOrientationGraphic
A person standing between the tips of the crescent and facing into the center of the crescent (red arrow) will be facing almost exactly in “qibla” direction (the Muslim prayer direction). You can verify the qibla direction from Somerset PA using any number of on-line Mecca-direction calculators.

To be precise, the Crescent of Embrace points 1.8° north of Mecca, ± a tenth of a degree. The final construction drawings alter this orientation slightly, so that instead of pointing a little less than two degrees north of Mecca, the actual crescent will point less than three degrees south of Mecca. Such small deviations from Mecca are insignificant by Islamic standards, which developed over a period of more than a thousand years during which far flung Muslims had no accurate way to determine the direction to Mecca.

The Park Service does not call the Crescent of Embrace a crescent anymore. Now they call it Circle of Embrace, but the only actual change was to add an extra arc of trees (planted to the rear of a person facing into the giant crescent) that explicitly represents a broken off part of the circle. The unbroken part of the circle, what symbolically remains standing in the wake of 9/11, is just the original Crescent of Embrace. It is still a giant Islamic shaped crescent, still pointing at Mecca.

This is the Park Service’s official explanation for the design: the terrorist attacks are depicted as smashing our peaceful circle and turning it into a giant crescent. A clearer depiction of Islamic victory is hard to imagine, so no one should be too surprised that the damned thing points to Mecca, and actually turns out to be a mosque.

Other mosque features

Mosque design is based on a dozen typical mosque features, every one of which is realized in the Crescent/Circle design, all on the same epic scale as the half mile wide crescent-mihrab. Note, for instance, that the 93 foot tall minaret-like Tower of Voices is topped with another Islamic-shaped crescent, akin to the crescent-topped minarets seen in many Islamic countries:

60%SizeMeccaOrientationGraphic
An Islamic shaped crescent, soaring in the sky above the symbolic lives of the 40 heroes, which literally dangle down below. In Islam, there is only heaven and hell. Symbolic damnation?

The Flight 93 mosque needs to be stopped, along with the Islamic victory mosque at ground zero in Manhattan. May the fight against these two desecrations strengthen each other.

Sincerely,

Tom Burnett Senior
Loving father of Flight 93 hero Tom Burnett Junior

Ten Gallon Hat Tip to Nice Deb

Kagan-5

Image by Harvard Law Record via Flickr

What’s with the media all bemoaning the lack of intel on Elena Kagan?

Plenty of material is available to reinforce the position that Elena Kagan should be rejected from lifetime inclusion to the highest court in the land. It defies comprehension that I, a mere peon in the political arena, should feel obligated to point out the obvious insanity. But here we go again.

Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan has lied to the very court to which she is nominated, has in effect admitted she would be a judicial activist, has weakened the protection of defenseless unborn children and demonstrated her disregard for the protection of Free Speech.

With his nomination of Kagan, the Obamachine has once again attacked our liberties and shown a complete disdain for the constitution and rule of law. Kagan, the *hack* Harvard law *cough* expert has shown in her previous writings and recommendations that she is unworthy of the position to which she aspires.

From The Classic Liberal: Kagan lied to Supreme Court in 9/11 Case.

Teresamerica alerts us to an NRO expose’ on Kagan’s abysmal record on the rights of the unborn. While working as deputy assistant to the president for domestic policy in the Clinton administration she[?] made [then secret] suggestions as to the wording of the bill banning partial birth abortion, wording that was inserted verbatim into the supposedly scientific document that in effect watered down their scientific findings.  As Shannen W. Coffin, an attorney in Washington, D.C., who was the deputy assistant attorney general in charge of the defense of the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act during the Bush administration writes at NRO:

Miss Kagan’s decision to override a scientific finding with her own calculated distortion in order to protect access to the most despicable of abortion procedures seriously twisted the judicial process.

Senators and Citizens alike should read the NRO article.

There is also recent evidence of Kagan’s stance on the First Amendment or rather the twisting of it to suit her desires. As Obama’s Solicitor General she:

argued that the government can imprison you for five years for passing out pamphlets that criticize candidates.

I wonder how Mizzz Kagan would characterize this robot’s opinion on her qualifications.

Mizzz Kagan, as a senior at Princeton, also authored a paper reflecting her longing for Socialism in America.

At Princeton, she wrote a senior thesis under historian Sean Wilentz titled “To the Final Conflict: Socialism in New York City, 1900-1933″, studying the socialist movement in New York City in the early 20th century. In it she wrote, “Through its own internal feuding, then, the SP exhausted itself forever….The story is a sad but also a chastening one for those who, more than half a century after socialism’s decline, still wish to change America.”[11] ~ Wikipedia

All this information and more was available to Barack Hussein Obama prior to his nominating the androgynous Mizzz Kagan, and is also alarming in the contex of the recent 5 to 4 Supreme Court decision to uphold the Second Amendment. Yes. You read that correctly, the SCOTUS recently was asked to rule on local encroachment of the right of an individual to bear arms and defend his life and property and it squeaked by with one vote! What I also find disturbing in the ruling is that they defined/refined the right as personal protection, and not protection from an out of control government hell bent on dominating the American people, which I see as original intent along with personal protection, but then, I’m no lawyer and that lawyer speak is Klingon to me.

You can read some other excellent opinions of the SC’s Second Amendment ruling from Nicki at Washington Rebel and from Matt at Conservative Hideout.

Elections have consequences folks. Remember in November.

Also, don’t forget to say a prayer for Mosab Yousef today.

Wolverines!

A couple of items you should know about in the WTF category.

While I was doing the T-Shirt post, I ran across an article at Pamella Geller’s site, Atlas Shrugs, about some Christians jailed for talking to Muslims! in Michigan! This is Sharia law being practiced in Free Speech America and we cannot let it stand.

Also, I received an email from Human Events yesterday alerting me to the same Christian evangelists plight.

Here is part of the email:

Jailed for Jesus in America…Michigan police arrest Christians for talking to Muslims

Four Christians were arrested and jailed for talking to Muslims about Jesus, by order of police chief Ronald Haddad of Dearborn Michigan, who defended the arrests one week after the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered those same police to let Christian evangelist George Saieg preach openly at a Muslim festival there.

The email also contained this link and explanation:

PLEASE SELECT HERE TO SIGN PETITION (and we’ll fax it to 535 Congressmen), DEMANDING FBI INVESTIGATE POLICE CORRUPTION IN DEARBORN MICHIGAN   (or just watch video and send a free email to Dearborn Mayor and Police Chief.)

Next:

The second item I want to alert you to is the new legislation being hammered out in the Congress that will, in effect, allow more government seizure of private companies, industry, or something. The lawmakers are once again chanting the mantra of “We’ve got to pass it so we can find out what is in it.”

I can hear the monks now…

Jamie Jeffords has a short piece on it with some other links:

Financial Reform Bill Finalized; No One Has Any Clue What It Does

I’ve heard of someone “Giving you the business” but this is getting bass-ackward  ridiculous.

Anyone Still Wondering Where This PC Bullshit Is Going Better Take A Look  At Britain.

Via twitter friend JihadHunter some disturbing images and a story to wake up the drowsy, that is if you want to be awakened at all. If not, sorry ’bout your bad luck.

From the UK Daily Mail:

Screaming hate and brandishing vile placards, Muslim extremists and far-Right groups clashed yesterday in ugly scenes that marred a parade by soldiers.

Around 40 members of a group called Muslims Against the Crusades (MAC) arrived with inflammatory banners featuring slogans such as ‘Butchers return’ and ‘What are you dying for? £18k’.

Now the good news. Some of our English brethren are tired of the BS as well:

They were soon confronted by 100 people, some wearing English Defence League T-shirts, who shouted ‘scum’ and ‘Muslim bombers off our streets’.

Thank God for anyone willing to stand up to this vile attempt at defaming defenders of freedom. Who do these idiots think protect their right to protest in the first place?
