Spent the New Year weekend on a road trip to west Texas and just had to stop to take a picture of this wonderful juxtaposition. I liked the idealism represented by the Peace Sign symbol at the entrance of this ranch contrasted with the common sense realism exemplified by the Vote to Stop Obama sign. Yes, the two ideas CAN live in the same world.
I also like the prominent flag display and the show of support for the local volunteer fire department.

I appreciate and admire gun-toting patriots who are proud to be American and are willing to educate the great unwashed as to exactly what that means. Bubba fits that description as well as anyone I can think of.
Here’s his speech on the Second Amendment. I’m posting it here because it doesn’t have enough views, yet. When you’re done with the video (be sure to watch ’til the end), please pay a visit to What Bubba Knows and let him know you appreciate his brand of unflinching patriotism too.
That is all.
Fortunately the school officials came to their senses after calls from all over the world including Afghanistan.
Yea. You read that right. It took calls from Afghanistan(!) amongst other places to reverse this lunacy.
Witness what happens when American Patriots learn you were removed of your First Amendment rights.
God bless all of you who participated in that show of support.

UPDATE II: Thanks Proof for the proofreading.
Somewhere on America’s left coast, behind the lines, stands one of the last bastions of hope for Conservative principles in California. A refuge for lovers of liberty who find themselves stuck in a beautiful landscape that hypnotizes all but the strong minded, luring them into a deadly world of Socialist thought that sucks the pride of self reliance from their minds and clouds it with the promise of unearned entitlements. That Fortress of Freedom is the blog American Power, and the luminary of that site is Professor Donald Douglas.
I’m often amazed at the tenacity required to produce the volume of quality articles and insightful commentary published by Prof. Douglas. Articles that are surely produced from an unquenchable love of America’s founding principles and a fire that grows brighter and stronger when fueled by the inane and asinine arguments of the liberal and socialistic pseudo-elites we battle today.
Professor Douglas, I’m certainly thankful you can withstand what must be a daily onslaught of leftist dogma evidenced in California these last couple of decades. Thank you for fighting against it with reason, truth and humor.
We need battalions of such educators in our schools to teach the truth of American exceptionalism.
Whatever you think of him, these facts are undeniable; the man behind American Power Blog is a tireless defender of freedom, of the virtues of liberty and a true American patriot. Which is why I’ve chosen American Power as the Robot’s latest Featured Blog.
Like your humble robot, Prof. Douglas is a music lover as well and possesses a diverse taste that spans the spectrum from punk rock to rap and hip-hop to pop and classic rock. I’ve found several new bands from visits to American Power and been reminded of some I’d forgotten.
I must also admit to sharing his affinity for Gods most favored creatures. We need a break from the punditry every now and then and the lovely ladies featured on his site rival those to be found anywhere, be it here on this site, or the glitzy runways of New York.
Be sure to bookmark and blogroll American Power.

Jeez, the guy is everywhere! Maybe that’s why he is fortunate enough to hang out with like minded freedom fighters like Pamela Geller.
Whatever it is you’re doing, Sir. Keep on keepin’ on. You’ve definitely got an admirer in this Texas robot.
No small task, I must say. And well deserved.
The cool thing about those inclusions to me is, they come out of nowhere. You certainly aren’t campaigning for them like say, a Nobel Peace Prize or anything. One day you’re telling the story as you see it, no-holds-barred reporting and analysis, the next, someone is telling you that you’ve been honored on a prestigious list from RWN.
You go my friend.
Shortly after that inclusion, he was offered and accepted an invitation to be a contributing author at Right Wing News. No doubt an award of merit for the insightful commentary and exceptional snarcasm evidenced on the WyBlog website.
Chris is a fearless writer. One who I obviously admire and would love to emulate if only I had his rapier wit. One can tell from the flow of his thought that Chris is as fluent with the keyboard as he is knowledgeable on the issues close to his heart and ours. Little stuff like oh, you know, Free Speech.
A recent brief example from Insurers dropping child coverage is part of Obama’s master plan
Hand-wringing by his sycophants aside and assuming that “everyone” could see it coming, this is exactly what Obama wanted to happen. What better way to presage the need for Universal, Government-run healthcare than by saying, “it’s for the children”?
So here we are. A high-profile showdown over a hot-button, tear-jerker issue; one to which the only compassionate reaction could be a government program to step in where the evil, capitalistic insurance companies fear to tread.
It’s not like we weren’t warned:
Obama’s sinister plan to reshape the very fabric of America is working.
We are fortunate to have such a freedom fighter and friend.

I think you will find Chris to be a host deserving of all accolades awarded and more. Outspoken, opinionated and spot-on with the critique and commentary with a style all his own.
Yup. Jersey. Hey, don’t knock it. Your next President may, come from Jersey.
I am curious though, as dialects go, at what point north of I-10 “Jersey” becomes “Joisi?” (which phonetically might be “Joese.” but I can’t find a long “e” in the special characters list.
Damn those Phonecians!
A few weeks ago, while listening to some old Hank Jr. I remembered a song he did in the seventies called Outlaw Women. It occurred to me that it might make good background music for a tribute to the conservative ladies in the political arena today. I sought out the tune and upon hearing it again, realized that a few lines just didn’t quite fit what I thought the proper message should be, which lead to a search for a song that did fit, but I kept coming back to the Outlaw. This left one choice. I would have to rewrite some lines and *gasp* sing the thing myself.
What follows is the result of the last few weeks agonizing in the studio over enunciation and phrasing and then compiling photos and learning how to use the video software. (Thanks Carol!)
I apologize in advance if I left anyone out. You can also blame me for any mistakes or faux-pas, or you can just blame Bush. Yea, that’s the ticket. Blame Bush.
Feel free to share it with anyone who likes Grizzly Mamas and really bad vocals.
Longtime readers of this blog and Hot Air know the extraordinary story of Ilario Pantano’s heroism. He’s the Marine sniper-turned-Wall Street trader who rejoined the military after 9/11, faced the death penalty for killing two Iraqi insurgents in the heat of battle in a terrorist-infested town near Baghdad, fought fiercely and successfully to clear his name, wrote the book Warlord chronicling his experiences, and defended other defenders who volunteer to put themselves in harm’s way for their countrymen.
Pantano is continuing his journey of public service in the political square. He’s running against Democrat incumbent Rep. Mike McIntyre in North Carolina’s 7th district. UNC Wilmington prof andTownhall columnist Mike Adams has a nice profile of Pantano here.Pantano’s website is here: He’s on a mission to protect the homeland, preserve conservative values, and increase fiscal accountability. Please lend your support to a warrior who put his life on the line for America.

This week’s blog of note is No Sheeples Here!
There are few people in the world who possess the innate ability to juxtapose current events, humor and biting commentary so adeptly in the photo-manipulation and artwork formats as Carol of No Sheeples Here! The Queen of Photoshop, Carol has amused most of us with her mad skillz at one time or another and has had yours truly slack-jawed with amazement on quite a few occasions.
Being the rabid patriot she is, Carol is also a preternatural master of political prose, possessing the ability to boil most any subject down to the root causes and strip away the chaff, showing us that she understands the subjects at hand at the visceral as well as contextual levels.
All that being said, the main reason I’m featuring her blog this week is, I just plain like her. Carol has been and continues to be one of the nicest people I’ve met on the net and one of the best humored. Although, judging from her artwork, which I must guess befits her demeanor, I wouldn’t want to tangle with The Queen.
Keep up the fine work, my friend, and I’ll keep stealing it. Deal?
Visit Carol’s site, No Sheeples Here often.
Also, check out her Photoshop repository, Mako Snark.
She also blogs at a few other great places. I would encourage you to explore her websites and find those as well. The bloggers she partners with are some of the best in the business, as I’m sure you will see.
Don’t forget to update your bookmarks and place these sites prominently in your blogrolls. You won’t regret the additions.
