Peter is back with his commentary on an alternate way of dealing with illegal immigration, one which we used to employ here in the US.
The Peter Morrison Report:
It’s unfortunate, but writing a conservative political newsletter in today’s environment means that I rarely have good news to share with my readers. I’m usually criticizing a politician who has deeply disappointed us or betrayed us, in one way or another. Make no mistake; I’m always looking for positive developments, and I’ve certainly written about a few of them in this newsletter. Most of the time, though, whether it involves Austin or Washington, what I’m discussing isn’t good news for conservative patriots.
This report is different. This time, I’d like to talk about a courageous and principled leader who actually puts the interests of his nation first when it comes to dealing with illegal immigration. He doesn’t repeat the usual pious PCs platitudes such as talking about the need for “compassion”, or the “responsibilities” or “obligations” that citizens supposedly have toward the invaders, and he doesn’t worry about members of the media calling him names like “racist” or “bigot”, because he understands that a nation’s immigration policies are supposed to be for the benefit of the nation’s citizens, and not for the benefit of foreigners who have no respect for the nation’s people or laws.
These days, to see a politician acting like this and actually putting the interests of his own citizens ahead of the feelings of the invaders is almost astonishing. We’ve gotten so used to politicians, whether liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat, pandering to illegal aliens and their defenders, and cowering in fear of being called “racist” by the left-wing media, that we’ve come to expect it. Except for a few brave souls such as former Congressman Tom Tancredo and Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio, there are almost no elected officials willing to stand up for Americans when it comes to illegal immigration. That’s why this politician’s behavior is so refreshing. Unfortunately, the political leader I’m referring to isn’t in America. He’s Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel. He is cracking down on the tens of thousands of illegal aliens who have flooded his nation from Africa in the last few years, promising to round them up and deport them. He is also promising to speed up the completion of a 150 mile-long wall near the Egyptian border to keep illegal aliens out of his country, and he’s not mincing his words when he speaks about how important it is. He says plainly that illegal immigration threatens the Jewish character of Israel. Here is what Prime Minister Netanyahu told his cabinet:
“If we don’t stop their entry, the problem that currently stands at 60,000 could grow to 600,000, and that threatens our existence as a Jewish and democratic state. This phenomenon is very grave and threatens the social fabric of society, our national security and our national identity.”
Can you picture any Congressman, Senator or presidential candidate here in America making a similar statement, to explicitly state that America has a right to preserve its existence as a Christian nation? In Israel, though, leaders are apparently cut from different cloth. Benjamin Netanyahu is not being treated as a pariah for saying these things and cracking down on illegal aliens; far from it. In fact, he has lots of company. Eli Yishai, the Interior Minister, said this about the invaders:
“Why should we provide them with jobs? I’m sick of the bleeding hearts, including politicians. Jobs would settle them here, they’ll make babies, and that offer will only result in hundreds of thousands more coming over here.”
This man is exactly right. If Israel allows mass immigration of Arabs, Palestinians and Africans, who have lots of children and then expect the Israelis to help pay for them, Israel will face not only financial bankruptcy but certain death as a first world society, their identity wiped out by the brutal math of demographics. No matter how much the liberals want it to be so, you can’t have a first world country with a Third World population. Since most Americans and Israelis would prefer their country over the rest of the world, it makes sense to be skeptical about large groups of immigrants from those less preferable countries. The quality and type of culture is directly related to the quality and type of people who live in it. For example, if millions of Egyptians were to move to Alaska, Alaska would become distinctly more Egyptian in its culture.
This admirable realism about the fragility of their nation-state is why the government of Israel is taking swift and decisive action to stop and reverse illegal immigration. In addition to speeding up completion of the security wall, the Knesset has recently passed one law allowing them to detain illegals for three years, and another one mandating sentences of five to fifteen years in prison for anyone offering aid or shelter to illegal immigrants. A third bill, which would fine any business that hires illegals up to a half million shekels (approximately $130,000), may also be passed in the next few weeks.
Here in the USA, things are pretty much the exact opposite. The media recently gleefully informed us that whites now make up less than half of the births in America. This is entirely due to immigration, both legal and illegal, and it signifies a radical demographic transformation that is entirely unprecedented in history. Yet if anyone here dares expresses any concerns about what this huge change to America’s population means for the future, or exhibits any wish to maintain the traditional American demographic status quo, he is denounced as a Nazi and driven from public life.
The federal government, under both Republican and Democrat administrations, has refused to take serious action to stem the tide of illegal aliens for decades. In Arizona the situation was so bad that legislators took things into their own hands, passing SB 1070. Now the “conservative” Supreme Court has ruled that three provisions of the law with actual teeth in them are unconstitutional, on the grounds that they usurp federal authority. In other words, only the federal government has the power to write and enforce immigration laws, and if they refuse to do so, that’s tough. Unlike in Israel, Americans will just have to get used to having their cities and town overrun with illegal aliens. In fact, the same day the ruling was announced, the Obama administration immediately announced that they would no longer cooperate with Arizona when it comes to immigration enforcement.
In addition, a few weeks ago Barack Obama announced that he’s effectively granting amnesty to illegal aliens under age 31 who came here before they turned 16. Of course, like the radical left-winger he is, he denied that it was actually amnesty. His DHS Secretary, Janet Napolitano, said “It is not amnesty. It is an exercise of discretion so that these young people are not in the removal system.” Well, what else is amnesty but taking illegal aliens out of the “removal system”? This is just radical leftist double talk from an administration that has repeatedly made it clear that is has nothing but contempt for average Americans, and is committed to destroying the way of life we cherish.
Mitt Romney may not have the Marxist background and terrorist associations that Obama has, but when it comes to illegal immigration, he unfortunately shares some of Obama’s values. He is not on the side of the American people, but on the side of the illegal aliens. It’s true that he held a press conference to criticize Obama for his amnesty by executive order, but he was merely quibbling with how Obama went about it. Romney supports doing the exact same thing, but wants it done by a Congressional law. He was asked repeatedly at the press conference if he would repeal Obama’s executive order if he is elected president, and he refused to answer. A few days later he appeared on Face the Nation and was asked the same question, several times, and once again, he refused to answer.
It gets worse. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, who is being promoted by many establishment RINOs as the ideal running mate for Romney because he’s Hispanic, has long been promoting a bill in the Senate that would do the exact same things as Obama’s executive order. This is the same bill that Romney wants Congress to pass. So it’s clear that Romney will be no better than Obama on immigration, even as America faces yet another year of very high unemployment.
Any truly patriotic leader would be saying that the needs of Americans take precedence over the desires of foreign invaders. He would be saying that it’s insane to allow millions of people to come here when we don’t even have enough jobs for our own citizens. He would be outlining a serious program for stopping illegal immigration, and removing the millions of illegals that are already here. Instead, Romney (and almost all GOP politicians) put pandering to the interests of the invaders ahead of serving the people who elect them, American citizens. If we had real leaders, the kind of leaders Israel has, we’d have the illegal immigration problem under control. Prime Minister Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders are to be commended for their actions on behalf of Israeli citizens. The people of Israel should be proud that their politicians care more about them than about foreign invaders. Now it’s time for us to get busy and elect the same kind of leaders here in America. It won’t be easy, but Israel has shown us that it can be done.

…if you don’t want to be labeled racist or xenophobic.
I don’t know him, nor have ever read his work until yesterday. I’m sure he’s a nice enough fellow but I have a wee quibble with Roger at EagleForum.org.
The headline in question:
The headline(s) that could have been:
America is becoming non-American
Or more to the point
American Atrophy: The Insidious Effects of Globalism, Socialism and Illegal Immigration
While we’re at it, a few more:
A Country with No Borders Is Not a Country At All
Taxed, Borderless and Stupid Is No Way to Go through Life, Son.
Where’s Waldo? Washington? – The Loss of the American Ideology
Hey, I understand the need for a snappy title but by any accounting, the premise of the original headline isn’t even accurate, nor has it ever been. Without consulting any census, I think we can agree that America has never been 100% white. Even the original immigrants weren’t all white so to say “becoming non-white” implies America was once all white.
I think it closer to the truth to say that, given the current influx of immigrants and the current birthrates, American whites are on a course to minority status. To presume America is becoming non-white just invites political backlash. Such is the danger in the attempt to grab attention. In this case, the critique shouldn’t be unexpected or necessarily unwarranted, even if the critics are being a bit extreme.
So what’s the Point?
I worry less about the birthrate of any particular demographic and more about what is being taught about the American way of life. What does it matter if comparatively fewer whites are being born in America when what the people in the country are being taught isn’t truly American to begin with? One cannot deny that the Progressives have nearly succeeded in their conquest of academia and thus are educating the educators and future leaders alike. The basic tenets of our Constitution such as Natural Law, Property Rights and Personal Liberty are now being undermined. They are being subtly and overtly proclaimed as regressive when in fact the Progressive Agenda aims for a return to a more repressed society. It’s a simple as this:
Larger Government = Less Freedom,
Less Government = More Freedom
For those not keeping score, we are currently immersed in a “Larger Government” scenario with the trend set to expand ever more if left un-checked.
When I hear the Speaker of the House reply to a question about the constitutionality of a law with a smug and disdainful “Are you serious?” I find more than a little cause for alarm. Progressives in the media and academia are at the forefront of the attack on traditional American values, virtue and freedom. Any criticism of liberal policy is met with school-girlish shrieks of emotional caterwauling and the facts of fiscal insolvency and overreaching statism are tossed out like yesterdays aborted babies. Just another necessary casualty in the quest for faux-freedom: the freedom from conscience.
No, we are not becoming non-white. We are losing our American Identity through dis-use and atrophy. Over time the exercise of our freedom has been increasingly limited by tiny, incremental adjustments and a majority of people haven’t noticed. It’s a Generational Creep that you will be ridiculed for speaking up about because the alternative is too scary. Some would have the law be our “Linus’ Blanket,” to make us feel better about ourselves and offering an illusion of safety when true safety is a myth. It cannot be attained through the application of any law or regulation. Never mind that most any law passed to perform such safety measures will invariably be used as a revenue generator at best and at worse a power tool over individual freedom.
The effect of not teaching American Constitutional Principles and Generation Creep is never more evident than in the illegal immigration issue. How else can you explain the relatively miniscule federal reaction to and public tolerance of 30 million uninvited guests crossing our borders in an invasion of sheer numbers?
The greater issue as I see it is the influx of un-American Ideals as evidenced by too many sleepwalking voters in 2008 willing to take a handout from the government. It’s time to have a little pride in yourselves and realize the majority of our problems are caused by too much government and the only way to fix it is by decreasing the government’s involvement in our affairs.
Instead of worrying so much about how many non-white babies are being born, we should be fighting to teach those newborn Americans about the freedoms envisioned by our founders.

Oh, right. Just what Obama wants.
Yesterday marked the 175th Texas Independence Day, which should serve to remind us that as Texans, we should all do our part to help preserve what our ancestors fought and died for.
Along those lines, here is an email I received this week from Peter Morrison asking Texans to help themselves and their heritage by pressuring the Texas Congress to pass E-Verify legislation which will ensure businesses hire Texans and people in the state legally.

Peter Morrison Report:
Help Protect Texas Jobs from Illegal Aliensâ€
I wanted to send out a legislative update on immigration issues. There are other important issues, but this issue above all others relates to the survival of our country and state.
Most immigration bills are processed by the State Affairs committee in the Texas House. Last session, Chairman Burt Solomons killed most of the good immigration bills. Rep. Solomons seems to have gotten the message this session, however, as he is one of the main sponsors of a bill to ban sanctuary cities. However, Mr. Solomons is no longer chair of the State Affairs Committee. That honor has fallen to Rep. Byron Cook.
Here’s what Rep. Cook has done so far:
He has scheduled a number of good bills for a hearing. Remember last time that the main way Solomons killed bills was by delaying or denying hearings. So far, it appears Rep. Cook is playing fair with the immigration bills.
However, there is one particular bill that has not yet been scheduled for a hearing and it happens to be, in my opinion, the most important immigration bill we must pass. It also happens to be the bill that the Cheap Labor Lobby, and the traitor wing of the Republican Party, will fight the hardest against.
This bill is HB 296, which requires state contractors and grant recipients to use the E-verify system. E-verify, as you may know, is an optional system that lets employers check social security numbers of employees against the federal database. Since many illegal aliens present fake documents to get jobs (and many employers are happy to play along, and are prohibited from investigating even if they smell something fishy due to oppressive “civil rights” laws), E-verify removes the jobs magnet for many illegals, who are usually incapable of anything more sophisticated than the petty fraud of forged documents, which E-verify effectively curtails.
As Roy Beck with NumbersUSA has stated many times, the Left likes to make immigration into a false choice: either we round up and deport people in an inhumane way, or we have to grant amnesty. The simplest solution is to remove the jobs magnet with a system like E-verify and people will self-deport. For example, it’s a lot cheaper to be unemployed in a foreign country like Mexico than in Texas. Then, these foreign governments will have to deal with their own social problems instead of pushing them onto American taxpayers.
There’s also a moral side to this issue. The law of supply and demand determines who gets rewarded in a free market system. For example, the main inputs into the production of aluminum are bauxite and electricity. It makes sense that if, for example, energy prices are really high (indicating high demand), that electricity producers would make more profit during those times.
Many so-called Republicans are hypocrites when it comes to the price of labor. Whenever wages go up because of high demand from employers, the first response of the cheap labor traitors is to demand increased immigration levels to suppress rising wages. As a result, we have gone in a generation from a country where a high school graduate could support an entire family to a country where the average person can barely make it on the market wage unless they reduce themselves to a Third World standard of living. When the cheap labor traitors can’t get wages beat down enough through legal means, they have used their political influence to stop enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws so that they can hire illegal labor at even lower wages.
We see this kind of corruption- the use of government policy to manipulate the labor market- up and down the economic ladder. America’s richest man, Bill Gates, has the audacity to ask Congress for more H-1b visas so Microsoft can have an army of indentured servants programming for $30,000 a year instead of employing Americans at the market wage. At the other end we see the massive fraud and criminality of the meat processing industry, which used to be a place where average Americans could earn a decent wage doing an unpleasant job.
Cheap Labor Lobby companies like the Tyson Corporation make billions of additional profits by lowering their direct labor costs at the expense of American workers and jobs, while simultaneously pushing untold billions of additional social spending onto American taxpayers for the health care and education required by law to be provided to illegal aliens.
On a related note, I think we would all prefer our computers to run more reliably if more software companies like Microsoft would invest in talented American programmers instead of Third World coding sweatshops.
A friend of mine from college told me the story of his father, who used to make six figures programming mainframes. He was laid off right before retirement and looked for a similar job (even at reduced pay) for over two years; he now works in the electronics section of the local Wal-mart. You see, technology companies don’t want to hire a 50-something family man when they can get an Indian programmer on an H-1b visa to work 60 hour weeks, under threat of deportation, for $15 an hour.
I’m sure many of you could tell me similar stories. There is a real human cost to the cheap labor traitors’ corrupting our government to distort the free market. We are denying our own domestic wage earners their God-given right to be paid the market wage in times of high demand.
Under our republican form of government, we are all essentially members of a covenant to respect each other’s property rights, even in situations where it does us personal harm. I have no right, for example, to demand that the electric company charge me less than market price, even if my personal situation is desperate and I cannot afford to pay. When we import Third World labor, we are bringing people into this country whose culture does not share our respect for free markets and property rights. If they did, first of all they wouldn’t violate our nation’s property rights by illegally entering and trespassing. Secondly, their home countries would not be such a mess, a long history of bloody demagogues and continual revolutions with each new leader as corrupt as the last. People generally get the government they deserve, as the old saying goes.
Thus, for short term profits, the cheap labor traitors ruin the long-term prospects of freedom, the very system that enabled them to generate their wealth. That’s why Democrats are so smug in this state, despite their recent electoral punishment. They know that, in the long run, demographics largely driven by illegal immigration make it inevitable that Texas will turn blue like California. It will take longer than they expect, but it will eventually happen unless something is done to reverse these ominous trends.
Once this happens, you can forget about a conservative President. You can forget about the Supreme Court, a primary reason so many of us hold our nose in Presidential elections and vote for the lesser of two evils. The game will be over if Texas falls; between New York, California and Texas the Democrats will have a lock on the Presidency. Our national government will then be under total occupation by Barack Obamas, Sonia Sotomayors and Ruth Bader Ginsburgs. The tattered remains of our much-abused but still-alive Constitution will finally be discarded by a permanent revolution of the Left.
Mandating E-Verify in Texas is a positive first step to counter these trends. The Cheap Labor Lobby will fight it tooth and nail, because it cuts to the heart of their criminal profits.
Please call Rep. Byron Cook at 512-463-0730 and demand he schedule a hearing in March for HB 296, which mandates use of the E-Verify system for many employers.

There are several new illegal immigration bills submitted by Texas State Representative Debbie Riddle and other conservatives that deserve our attention and support.
If the federal government continues to turn a blind eye to the issue, and they give every indication that they will do just that, it is left to the states to deal with. Rep. Riddle and her conservative colleagues have made the first steps, but we must encourage the entire body of lawmakers to finish the job.
One bill would require employers to verify the legal immigration status of their employees.
Another pair, HB22 would require schools to request the immigration status of each student enrolled in a Texas public school, and HB21 would require state agencies (including school districts) to calculate the cost of services to persons here illegally.
Find your Texas State Representatives and urge them to support these bills.
Peter Morrison has written an article concerning HB22 and one of it’s detractors:
The Peter Morrison Report:
Texans Deserve to Know the True Cost of Illegal Immigration
Summary of this week’s report:
Texans sent a message last November when we went to the polls, and it was loud and clear: we want real conservatives who will take a strong stand on the issues we care about. One of our biggest concerns is illegal immigration, which is overwhelming our state. Unfortunately it seems that Rep. Rob Eissler, chairman of the House Public Education Committee, has already turned his back on our concerns. He is opposed to a bill that would require public schools to check the immigration status of their students. This is not what we voted for in November. Please send a free fax to let Rob Eissler know we’re not going to put up with it.
Last November, voters went to the polls across Texas and America and sent an unmistakable message: we’ve had enough of “me too” Republicans, and we want leaders who will do more than just mouth platitudes that sound good. We want Republicans who will fight for conservative causes and principles, instead of caving in and kowtowing to liberals at the first sign of opposition. Some of our senators and representatives in Austin have let us know that they received the message loud and clear, and they’re going to work hard on behalf of the issues we care about, and there are indications that this session won’t just be business as usual. Unfortunately, others seem to have completely forgotten the conservative revolution of last November.
Rep. Debbie Riddle (R-Houston) has proposed a bill that would require all public schools to check the immigration status of all their students. This is a very sensible first step toward getting a handle on the huge illegal immigration problem in Texas. As it stands now, there are no reliable figures as to just how widespread the problem is. If Debbie Riddle’s bill becomes law, at least we would finally be able to measure just how much it costs us every year to educate the children of illegals in our public schools. This is exactly the sort of leadership conservative Texans demanded
Unfortunately it seems that not all the Republicans in Austin got the message. One of them, Rep. Rob Eissler (R-The Woodlands) is Chairman of the House Public Education Committee. Recently he gave an interview to the Texas Tribune in which he was asked about Rep. Riddle’s bill. His response to the question should anger every conservative in Texas. At first he tried to avoid answering the question. Then, not only did he say he opposes the bill, calling it a mandate, he did so in a very condescending and offensive manner. He gave the distinct impression that he wants nothing to do with those of us who are concerned about illegal immigration, and won’t be doing anything to stop it.
Rep. Eissler pointed out that under Supreme Court rulings, public schools in America have no choice but to educate the children of illegals. Under current law, that is true, but Eissler is misconstruing the point of the bill. There is nothing in it which would order or allow schools to refuse admittance to the children of illegal aliens. It would simply require them to verify citizenship status, just as they already tabulate many other statistics, such as how many children are below the poverty line, what race children are, etc. Collecting one more bit of information would hardly constitute a burden on public schools.
It seems likely that there is more to Eissler’s opposition than the fact that this bill would be an inexpensive mandate. Not only does he appear to be opposed to efforts to rein in illegal immigration, he also appears to want to use the very fact that schools are being swamped by illegals as an excuse to raise spending on public education. In January 2010, a Houston Chronicle article discussed the fact that around 60% of students in Texas public schools are considered “disadvantaged”, because they come from a low income family, or they don’t speak English well, or both. Obviously, this problem has been made much worse by illegal immigrants, many of whose children fall into one or both categories. The Chronicle quoted Eissler, who said the answer is spending more tax dollars to hire teachers with “more qualifications” in our public schools: “You have more and more kids that are less prepared to do well in
school. Where the expense comes in, you need teachers that have more qualifications. Maybe we need more and better professional development for our teachers.” It’s hard to understand “teachers that have more qualifications” in this context as anything other than “bilingual” teachers. Eissler admitted that his idea would mean spending more money on public schools, which would also, quite conveniently, give him even more power as Chairman of the House
Public Education Committee.
Rob Eissler’s opposition to the Riddle bill is an outrage, and we cannot allow it to pass unopposed. For far too long we’ve put up with being betrayed by RINOs and phony conservatives, and it has to stop. Liberals don’t betray their base and start voting along conservative lines when they win office. No, leftists are playing to win, and they unashamedly represent the people who put them in power. Just this past week, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who famously said that she thinks a “wise Latina” would make a better judge than a white male, spoke to a group of students at the University of Chicago law school, and she made it clear she’s strongly committed to racial quotas and other preferences. She knows who made her what she is today, and she intends to use her power to advance their agenda. Meanwhile, on our side, we’re regularly betrayed by RINO after RINO.
Conservative Texans want leaders who will fight for what we believe in, while there’s still time to make a difference. California is probably past the point of no return when it comes to being destroyed by illegal immigration, but Texas isn’t that far behind. We must act now, or we will face the same fate that California now faces, a future as a third world state. We can’t let that happen here. We need to inundate Rep. Eissler’s office with faxes and phone calls and insist that he support Debbie Riddle’s bill. We need to let him know that we’re fed up with being betrayed by the leadership in Austin when it comes to illegal immigration. He needs to decide whose team he’s on. If he’s on our team, then he’d
better start acting like it. If he’s not, and he’d rather win praise from Democrats and the media for being “open minded” and “tolerant,” then we’ll solve the problem once and for all in the 2012 primaries.
Call or fax Rep. Rob Eissler and insist that he start voting like a conservative when it comes to illegal immigration, beginning with Rep. Riddle’s bill to require public schools to verify the immigration status of all students. Tell him he needs to start opposing illegal immigration, or we’ll find someone who will in 2012.

I hope everyone has called or faxed or emailed their Senators to urge them to oppose the DREAM Act, which just yesterday passed the House of Representatives and heads to the Senate today, and the Forced Unionization bill now under debate, soon to be voted on in both houses of Congress.
As I told my Senator yesterday evening in a short email, it would be better to have these issues and other such major legislation discussed after the newly elected congress is installed. In fact, I think any Lame Duck congress should be limited to legislation which deals with funding the military or the operation of our government only.
Of course, the Democraps currently seated don’t see it that way. They think since they are on the way out, why waste the opportunity to whack you once or twice more with additional laws we’ll have to fight for repeal of, thus enabling, in the case of the DREAM nightmare, further painting of anyone against the DREAM Act as racist and against the poor starving under-privileged immigrants who are here lawfully (only once the amnesty bill passes). They know that once a law is in place it will be almost impossible to repeal, especially after 2 years of implementation. The same holds true for the misleadingly named “Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act.†The TEA Party Republicans will have a lot on their plate to repeal in 2013. Do we need, or can we stand to pile more on that already heaping shingle? I think not.
Republicans have a lousy track record when it comes to repealing bad legislation. In fact, I can’t think of very many times it has happened. Republicans by their nature are less active in dealing with repeal of bad laws. Most will just learn to live with it or in the case of the RINO’s (read Progressive Republicans) be active in the enactment of such laws.
TEA Partiers, Americans, our job did not finish with this election. We just got started.
