It’s a sad day in Robot Land.
My blogger friend Carol, who kept us all in good spirits at her blog Amusing Bunni’s Musings has graduated from this earthly realm and gone to meet her savior and redeemer in Heaven, from where she graciously offered to be a guardian angel for her friends. Thank you, Bunni, I can use all the help I can get.
I’m sad at the loss of such a bright light in the world but also relieved that she is no longer in pain.
Opus posted some pictures of the very beautiful Bunni along with links to many other friends’ tributes over at American Perspective. Bunni was beautiful inside and it couldn’t help but show on the outside as well.
God bless and keep you my friend. You will be missed.
Oh, and as if led by the Bunnster herself, I found the pic of the sad robot stuffed toy at the blog Battle Bunny. I think Carol would have liked that. She was a fighter.
Don’t miss this opportunity to help a blogger in need.
Leg Iron is hosting an auction for our Beloved Amusing Bunni to help with her medical expenses. The item he’s auctioning is a 1/24th scale Jaguar XK-120 with driver and passenger fitted with optical-fibre cigarettes. – How cool would THAT look on your model shelf?
Be sure to head over to his place for the particulars.
Alternately, you can make a donation to Bunni’s medical fund at her PayPal account.
My friends, I come to you with a plea for help on behalf of someone too humble to ask for themselves.
Our dear friend Amusing Bunni, one sure source of humor in the ongoing battle for our country, is in need of prayers. And lots of them. She’s been diagnosed with liver cancer. Inoperable. Stage Five.
There is no good way to put this, so the cold hard truth is:
I was in hospital for 8 days, after all the tests, biopsies, bone scans, mri, cat scans, ultra sounds, etc. etc. It’s confirmed I have 5th stage inoperable liver cancer, HCC. There is NOTHING to be done to treat it. I have been given 3 to 6 months to live.
This hits me hard.
A little less than a year ago I lost my Mom to cancer, or I should say it was the chemo and radiation that finally wore her body down til it could take no more.
It doesn’t need to be said, but I’ll say it anyway.
Cancer freaking sucks.
Anyone dealing with or acquainted with someone dealing with that dreadful disease understands the terrible toll it takes on a family’s emotions and finances.
Friends, Bunni and her family are in need. To quote Zilla:
Bunni is now (obviously) unable to work and she has mortgage and other bill payments still to worry about and she will need help covering medical and other expenses as well. Here is her PayPal button.
Please, if you can, consider a monetary donation to Bunni’s Medical Fund.
Afterwards, please head over to Amusing Bunni’s Musings to offer some encouragement. She needs to know how much we love her and appreciate the joy she has brought into our lives.
Also, if you’re a blogger or just want to add your name to the list of supporters, be sure drop by Zilla’s place to add your name to the Roll Call.
God bless my Bunni Lass.
Here’s a collection of WTF articles I’m running across as I Bar-B-Que in preparation for the Stupor Bowl tomorrow.
Not WTF but WOW! – Video: The skin gun
We now interrupt this WTF link fest to wish a happy blogiversary to our much beloved friend Amuzing Bunni!
Happy Blog Day, babe! Be sure to hop on over to Bunni’s place and wish her a happy happy.
Back to the WTF, but speaking of bunnies,
Year of the Snow Bunnies? <— Rule 5 greatness from the Wysoki
Obama calls out Mubarack over ignoring the people’s wishes.
Hello pot? This is kettle… (Was that raaaaacist?)
and, nothing says WTF like hearing this from The Trog… Danica Patrick is dead to me.
A robot weeps.
Now for some creepy WTF – Facebook Exchange With Alex Knepper
and, not necessarily WTF, unless you think the left is actually for American values, even then it’s more OMG!
The quote is actually from David Horowitz, but Professor Douglas has some video and the link to Mr. Horowitz’s article.
Stepping once more out of the WTF department, Carol has something to wash your mind out with:
That’s all for now, gotta see what’s happening at the Barbie Que.
I’ll probably update this post later so, we’ll see ya when I get back! If these ladies let me, that is.
Sunday UPDATE 1:30 pm:
Sliced and ready.
As penance for ignoring the blog for over a week and as a reward for reaching the halfway mark on the tedious project I’m working on, the robot presents for your viewing pleasure the lovely and talented Cheryl Cole Tweedy.
Now quit looking at me like that.
Today we remember that it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In order to help my readers in prioritizing the significance of the event, I’ve chosen a few appropriate photos which, in addition to the national campaign, I hope will also serve as a reminder of a friend whom we all miss dearly.
Is it “who” or “whom” in that context? I never can remember.
At any rate, on with the post.
This being Rule 5 Saturday, and pink being the color chosen for Save the Tata’s Month, this two part theme will be of a very pinkish hue. I’ll let the loyal reader guess as to the identity of the person I seek to honor and send well wishes to, because they have specifically asked to receive no undue attention.
As usual, some of these embiggin with near life-size results.
We pause for a little Rule 5 for the ladies:
Here’s a little roundup of great posts from the Robo-Reading List to help you through the next few days.
First, Carol of No Sheeples Here is participating in Project 2996, which for her part she honors the slain of 9/11/2001 with a tribute a day until Sept. 11. A very touching way to remember the heroes of that day who lost their lives. Carol’s blog has been featured blog this week, so please be sure to visit her site and let her know that an imaginary robot does indeed dream of electric sheep. Thank you.
As a side note, I’m considering changing the title of “Featured Blog” to “Honorary Android” or something close like “Android Army.” What do you think? Suggestions?
Next up is the blogosphere’s very own Stacy McCain, who truly earns the title of “Roving Reporter” this week by traveling all the way to Alaska to cover some Republican primary or something. I think Joe Miller’s name came up at some point. While he was in the neighborhood, he stopped in to check on the Palin family.
As Red said, “How freaking cool is this?”
Speaking of my favorite redhead, she and the crew of Corndog are in the process of making the move to Texas and could use a little help for the U-Haul. Drop by over there and throw a couple of bucks in the tip jar.
So, one half of The Other McCain is off playing world traveler, rubbing elbows and rattling the tip jar no doubt trying to get enough shoe leather funds for a ride home, while Smitty, the balder and sometimes bolder half is covering everything else it would seem. Some highlights:
Staying on the election theme, my Jersey buddy Russ, the constant campaigner has been working his arse off for another favorite of mine, Anna Little who is up against some huge opposition in the form of Frank Pallone. Russ exudes confidence in his post over at The Resistance:
I’m telling you right now, as you sit there, that this is the single biggest House electoral upset in history in the making.
Just a sample of what we’re up against:
- 22-year hard progressive incumbent (proud author of PalloneCare and cap-and-trade)
- $4 million warchest (the richest in the house)
- 2 to 1 D to R demographic in the 6th District (34-17)
- Ridiculously gerrymandered District intended solely to keep Frank Pallone in office (just look at it sometime)
But we’re gonna win.
Here’s a link to Anna’s donation page. It takes money to win these campaigns folks. Either we give now to the candidates who will fight the beast or the beast will take your money anyway to redistribute as they see fit. The choice is yours.
I must add that all of the above causes are ones I consider most worthy. I wouldn’t recommend a donation to someone I haven’t personally donated to myself.
Lance also asks a relevant question.
Little Miss Attila brings up a good point about Chuck Norris:
Of course, there’s the issue of whether we should be listening to a guy who loses his damn gun in every single movie he’s in . . .
Then again, he is Chuck Norris, why would he be carrying a gun if not to lose it for the plot line?
Ha! I just used “Chuck Norris” and “plot line” in the same sentence. Where’s my award?
Bluegar. ROTFL Cougar. Bluegar. Whatever, watch the vid.
How does one spell “Bluegar” anyway?
Ruby Slippers points us to Dallas, TX Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson’s apparent mis-allocation of funds to her own relatives and the poor job she puts forth in defense of her actions.
Since 2005 Johnson has awarded a total of 23 scholarships to family members.Johnson additionally awarded scholarships to 5 other students who did not meet the residency requirements specified by the nonprofit Congressional Black Caucus Foundation
Eddie Bernice Johnson is also pointed out on this blog’s Texas 11 page, which highlights the 11 Texas Representatives who voted for Obamacare, but the main reason for that page is not just to highlight those Socialist scumbags but to call attention to their opponents. Eddie B. Johnson’s opponent is the most worthy Stephen Broden, a Constitutional Conservative who has been a featured guest on the Glenn Beck Show on several occasions and who I believe spoke at the Restoring Honor Rally in D.C. last weekend with Dr. Alveda King although I did not see that part personally.
Cassandra over at Villainous Company plays Queer Eye for the Oval Office Guy, with hilarious results. And don’t forget the comments. Out. Freaking. Standing. Stellar work, Madame.
Gator Doug asks, “Hey kids, who is ready to see Alan Grayson make an ass of himself again?”
Donald Douglas also reminded me of this gem from Fleetwood Mac, Rumours.
Fuzzi Slippers has been on some kind of blogging hiatus lately, but this piece is worth a link and two reads:
Hope all is well in your world, Fuzzi
Kristin is also a little scarce on posting of late, but what she finds time to share is well worth the time. Just beware the Attack Chicken!
Conservative Hideout tallies the damage from Obamacare.
Adrienne has a great roundup of her own.
Maggie’s Notebook offers:
Motor City Times has some hops inspired music to my tin ears along with another collection of great links.
Obi’s Sister has a final word on the GZ Mosque.
Bride of Rove has a little fun with the Beck Sex Tape fiasco.
Obama Fail Blog wonders on the joys of Trailer Park Banking!
And leaving on a humorous note, The Current has a Joe Friday clip.
Enjoy your weekend, folks! ~ ‘bot
UPDATE: I added a link. Dare you to find it.
And a belated thanks to Last Refuge of a Scoundrel for the nice words and blogroll add. I’m digging that ‘stang dude.
It’s been a little while since I’ve done a link fest. Really not sure I’ve done any at all since the trilogy of Robo-Love Experiments #1, #2 & #3 that turned out to be a big hit with my friends in the blogosphere. Happy you guys liked them.
This one however will be a bit simpler and just offer a sincere thank you to all the blogs that have linked your humble ‘bot in the past month or so.
Thank You Very Much!
The Troglopundit – Hey, watch the robot jokes there, buddy.
Kristin’s Mishmash – Belated blogroll addition. – Another programming error corrected.
If I missed any one, please let me know.
Keep up the fight!
Someone taught me how to treat my friends.
This just may qualify for a Rule 5 posting. Tune in Sunday to find out!
