Peter is back with his commentary on an alternate way of dealing with illegal immigration, one which we used to employ here in the US.

The Peter Morrison Report:

It’s unfortunate, but writing a conservative political newsletter in today’s environment means that I rarely have good news to share with my readers. I’m usually criticizing a politician who has deeply disappointed us or betrayed us, in one way or another. Make no mistake; I’m always looking for positive developments, and I’ve certainly written about a few of them in this newsletter. Most of the time, though, whether it involves Austin or Washington, what I’m discussing isn’t good news for conservative patriots.

This report is different. This time, I’d like to talk about a courageous and principled leader who actually puts the interests of his nation first when it comes to dealing with illegal immigration. He doesn’t repeat the usual pious PCs platitudes such as talking about the need for “compassion”, or the “responsibilities” or “obligations” that citizens supposedly have toward the invaders, and he doesn’t worry about members of the media calling him names like “racist” or “bigot”, because he understands that a nation’s immigration policies are supposed to be for the benefit of the nation’s citizens, and not for the benefit of foreigners who have no respect for the nation’s people or laws.

These days, to see a politician acting like this and actually putting the interests of his own citizens ahead of the feelings of the invaders is almost astonishing. We’ve gotten so used to politicians, whether liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat, pandering to illegal aliens and their defenders, and cowering in fear of being called “racist” by the left-wing media, that we’ve come to expect it. Except for a few brave souls such as former Congressman Tom Tancredo and Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio, there are almost no elected officials willing to stand up for Americans when it comes to illegal immigration. That’s why this politician’s behavior is so refreshing. Unfortunately, the political leader I’m referring to isn’t in America. He’s Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel. He is cracking down on the tens of thousands of illegal aliens who have flooded his nation from Africa in the last few years, promising to round them up and deport them. He is also promising to speed up the completion of a 150 mile-long wall near the Egyptian border to keep illegal aliens out of his country, and he’s not mincing his words when he speaks about how important it is. He says plainly that illegal immigration threatens the Jewish character of Israel. Here is what Prime Minister Netanyahu told his cabinet:

“If we don’t stop their entry, the problem that currently stands at 60,000 could grow to 600,000, and that threatens our existence as a Jewish and democratic state. This phenomenon is very grave and threatens the social fabric of society, our national security and our national identity.”

Can you picture any Congressman, Senator or presidential candidate here in America making a similar statement, to explicitly state that America has a right to preserve its existence as a Christian nation? In Israel, though, leaders are apparently cut from different cloth. Benjamin Netanyahu is not being treated as a pariah for saying these things and cracking down on illegal aliens; far from it. In fact, he has lots of company. Eli Yishai, the Interior Minister, said this about the invaders:

“Why should we provide them with jobs? I’m sick of the bleeding hearts, including politicians. Jobs would settle them here, they’ll make babies, and that offer will only result in hundreds of thousands more coming over here.”

This man is exactly right. If Israel allows mass immigration of Arabs, Palestinians and Africans, who have lots of children and then expect the Israelis to help pay for them, Israel will face not only financial bankruptcy but certain death as a first world society, their identity wiped out by the brutal math of demographics. No matter how much the liberals want it to be so, you can’t have a first world country with a Third World population. Since most Americans and Israelis would prefer their country over the rest of the world, it makes sense to be skeptical about large groups of immigrants from those less preferable countries. The quality and type of culture is directly related to the quality and type of people who live in it. For example, if millions of Egyptians were to move to Alaska, Alaska would become distinctly more Egyptian in its culture.

This admirable realism about the fragility of their nation-state is why the government of Israel is taking swift and decisive action to stop and reverse illegal immigration. In addition to speeding up completion of the security wall, the Knesset has recently passed one law allowing them to detain illegals for three years, and another one mandating sentences of five to fifteen years in prison for anyone offering aid or shelter to illegal immigrants. A third bill, which would fine any business that hires illegals up to a half million shekels (approximately $130,000), may also be passed in the next few weeks.

Here in the USA, things are pretty much the exact opposite. The media recently gleefully informed us that whites now make up less than half of the births in America. This is entirely due to immigration, both legal and illegal, and it signifies a radical demographic transformation that is entirely unprecedented in history. Yet if anyone here dares expresses any concerns about what this huge change to America’s population means for the future, or exhibits any wish to maintain the traditional American demographic status quo, he is denounced as a Nazi and driven from public life.

The federal government, under both Republican and Democrat administrations, has refused to take serious action to stem the tide of illegal aliens for decades. In Arizona the situation was so bad that legislators took things into their own hands, passing SB 1070. Now the “conservative” Supreme Court has ruled that three provisions of the law with actual teeth in them are unconstitutional, on the grounds that they usurp federal authority. In other words, only the federal government has the power to write and enforce immigration laws, and if they refuse to do so, that’s tough. Unlike in Israel, Americans will just have to get used to having their cities and town overrun with illegal aliens. In fact, the same day the ruling was announced, the Obama administration immediately announced that they would no longer cooperate with Arizona when it comes to immigration enforcement.

In addition, a few weeks ago Barack Obama announced that he’s effectively granting amnesty to illegal aliens under age 31 who came here before they turned 16. Of course, like the radical left-winger he is, he denied that it was actually amnesty. His DHS Secretary, Janet Napolitano, said “It is not amnesty. It is an exercise of discretion so that these young people are not in the removal system.” Well, what else is amnesty but taking illegal aliens out of the “removal system”? This is just radical leftist double talk from an administration that has repeatedly made it clear that is has nothing but contempt for average Americans, and is committed to destroying the way of life we cherish.

Mitt Romney may not have the Marxist background and terrorist associations that Obama has, but when it comes to illegal immigration, he unfortunately shares some of Obama’s values. He is not on the side of the American people, but on the side of the illegal aliens. It’s true that he held a press conference to criticize Obama for his amnesty by executive order, but he was merely quibbling with how Obama went about it. Romney supports doing the exact same thing, but wants it done by a Congressional law. He was asked repeatedly at the press conference if he would repeal Obama’s executive order if he is elected president, and he refused to answer. A few days later he appeared on Face the Nation and was asked the same question, several times, and once again, he refused to answer.

It gets worse. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, who is being promoted by many establishment RINOs as the ideal running mate for Romney because he’s Hispanic, has long been promoting a bill in the Senate that would do the exact same things as Obama’s executive order. This is the same bill that Romney wants Congress to pass. So it’s clear that Romney will be no better than Obama on immigration, even as America faces yet another year of very high unemployment.

Any truly patriotic leader would be saying that the needs of Americans take precedence over the desires of foreign invaders. He would be saying that it’s insane to allow millions of people to come here when we don’t even have enough jobs for our own citizens. He would be outlining a serious program for stopping illegal immigration, and removing the millions of illegals that are already here. Instead, Romney (and almost all GOP politicians) put pandering to the interests of the invaders ahead of serving the people who elect them, American citizens. If we had real leaders, the kind of leaders Israel has, we’d have the illegal immigration problem under control. Prime Minister Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders are to be commended for their actions on behalf of Israeli citizens. The people of Israel should be proud that their politicians care more about them than about foreign invaders. Now it’s time for us to get busy and elect the same kind of leaders here in America. It won’t be easy, but Israel has shown us that it can be done.

New video from Right Change:

In his latest report, Peter Morrison offers his review of the recent Texas primary and offers some insight into the strategery employed by the RINO’s in the state congress to thwart true conservative candidates.

Summary of this report:

The Texas primary has come and gone, and it brought both good news and bad news to Texas conservatives. Joe Straus survived a primary challenge for his own seat, but many of his cronies went down to defeat.  Unfortunately, we lost a few staunch conservatives, and the new redistricting maps drawn up by Straus and his moderates played a big part in that.  Several races are still undecided, and are headed for runoffs in July, giving us another opportunity to elect strong conservative leaders. We also have a challenger for Speaker of the House.

Full report:

After being delayed by lawsuits, the Texas primary finally took place on May 29th.  Texas conservatives had high hopes that the passion and energy that were unleashed a few years ago had not diminished, and that the results of the GOP primary would be a clear message to the GOP about what kind of candidates we’re looking for. Unfortunately, the results weren’t that clear cut, but were more of a mixed bag.  There was some bad news, but there was a lot of reason for hope, too.

We’ll start with the bad news, which is that some very good people were defeated in their bids for re-election.  Three candidates whose defeats will have the most impact were Gail Lowe, Leo Berman, and Wayne Christian.  Gail Lowe, who fought so valiantly to make sure that schoolchildren in Texas get a real education based on the actual facts of history, instead of left-wing PC fantasies, lost her seat on the Texas State Board of Education. Leo Berman and Wayne Christian, two of the finest conservatives in Austin, both lost House re-election bids to GOP challengers.

Of course, there are many factors that come into play in every election, but there’s no getting around the fact that one of the biggest factors in some of these losses was the redistricting plan created by Joe Strauss and his team of RINOs. It’s difficult to avoid the conclusion that one of the purposes of the new redistricting map was to punish certain strong conservatives. It seems clear that the RINOs deliberately forced candidates like Wayne Christian and Gail Lowe into these new, artificial districts filled with people who don’t know them, and whose voting patterns would make it much more difficult for them to be re-elected.  Here’s what Michael Quinn Sullivan said about the Wayne Christian loss:

“A dark spot on the night was the loss of State Rep. Wayne Christian. But even there, the Straus team had to radically re-draw Christian’s district and spend heavily from the Austin lobby.”

The good news is that most conservative Republicans won their primaries and that several Straus supporters went down to defeat, including three of his closest cronies (Vicki Truitt, Rob Eissler, and Mike Hamilton). In addition, two more of Straus’s pals (Chuck Hopson and Sid Miller) didn’t win their contests; they only managed to qualify for a runoff election on July 31st.  Other contests resulted in runoffs, too.  This means that there are still several opportunities for conservatives to make a difference when it comes to deciding who will represent us in November.

In fact, there’s no reason conservatives can’t be the deciding factor in every one of the upcoming runoff races. That’s because turnout will probably be very low.  According to official government figures, only 1.4 million registered Republicans came out to vote in the primary on May 29th. That’s an 11% turnout.  Numbers for runoff elections are usually even lower than that.  One political expert is predicting that between 6% and 8% of GOP voters will come out on July 31st. Compare that to a general election, when about half of all registered voters generally come out to vote.

A low turnout is great news for committed conservatives.  The lower the turnout, the more impact each vote has, which means that if we all take a little time out of our schedules and go to the polling place on July 31st, while most other voters are too apathetic to bother, we can dominate the runoff races, elect people who will stand for our principles, and send another strong message to Joe Straus and the RINOs in the Republican establishment.  We can’t let up now; it’s imperative that we keep letting the GOP establishment know that we expect our elected leaders to fight for true conservative values, instead of going along to get along.  It might take a while, but if we refuse to give up, eventually they’ll get the message.

On that note, Rep. Bryan Hughes (R-Mineola) has filed paperwork with the Texas Ethics Commission declaring that he will mount a run for Speaker of the House, opposing Joe Straus.  This is excellent news. It takes real courage to oppose a sitting Speaker, because there are consequences when you go up against the man who calls all the shots.  Rep. Hughes has already proven that he’s not afraid to challenge the status quo. He vocally withdrew his support for Straus in 2010, after he received word that GOP members who didn’t support Straus would be punished by having their districts redrawn unfavorably.  He never wavered even as he endured a firestorm of criticism after his announcement. Many lesser men would have apologized or said “my remarks were taken out of context.”  Bryan Hughes is a true conservative with a lot of character, and he deserves our full support in his challenge to Straus.

Here are the runoff races to be decided on July 31st. I’ve marked candidates that I’m endorsing with an asterisk. (I’m not offering an endorsement in every race.)

Railroad Commissioner – Full Term: Christi Craddick vs Warren Chisum

After campaigning for nearly 5 months, we took a break last Friday evening and jammed-out to the masterful tunes of Mr. Phil Pritchett and The Full Band. Without knowing the political leanings of P2, I gathered some strong libertarian concepts in the lyrics of his songs.

Here’s a couple of shaky video examples. Enjoy:

.

…if you don’t want to be labeled racist or xenophobic.

I don’t know him, nor have ever read his work until yesterday. I’m sure he’s a nice enough fellow but I have a wee quibble with Roger at EagleForum.org.

The headline in question:

America is becoming non-white

The headline(s) that could have been:

America is becoming non-American

Or more to the point

American Atrophy: The Insidious Effects of Globalism, Socialism and Illegal Immigration

While we’re at it, a few more:

A Country with No Borders Is Not a Country At All

———————

Taxed, Borderless and Stupid Is No Way to Go through Life, Son.

———————

Where’s Waldo? Washington? – The Loss of the American Ideology

Enough? OK.

Hey, I understand the need for a snappy title but by any accounting, the premise of the original headline isn’t even accurate, nor has it ever been. Without consulting any census, I think we can agree that America has never been 100% white. Even the original immigrants weren’t all white so to say “becoming non-white” implies America was once all white.

I think it closer to the truth to say that, given the current influx of immigrants and the current birthrates, American whites are on a course to minority status. To presume America is becoming non-white just invites political backlash. Such is the danger in the attempt to grab attention. In this case, the critique shouldn’t be unexpected or necessarily unwarranted, even if the critics are being a bit extreme.

So what’s the Point?

I worry less about the birthrate of any particular demographic and more about what is being taught about the American way of life. What does it matter if comparatively fewer whites are being born in America when what the people in the country are being taught isn’t truly American to begin with? One cannot deny that the Progressives have nearly succeeded in their conquest of academia and thus are educating the educators and future leaders alike. The basic tenets of our Constitution such as Natural Law, Property Rights and Personal Liberty are now being undermined. They are being subtly and overtly proclaimed as regressive when in fact the Progressive Agenda aims for a return to a more repressed society. It’s a simple as this:

Larger Government = Less Freedom,

Less Government = More Freedom

For those not keeping score, we are currently immersed in a “Larger Government” scenario with the trend set to expand ever more if left un-checked.

When I hear the Speaker of the House reply to a question about the constitutionality of a law with a smug and disdainful “Are you serious?” I find more than a little cause for alarm. Progressives in the media and academia are at the forefront of the attack on traditional American values, virtue and freedom. Any criticism of liberal policy is met with school-girlish shrieks of emotional caterwauling and the facts of fiscal insolvency and overreaching statism are tossed out like yesterdays aborted babies. Just another necessary casualty in the quest for faux-freedom: the freedom from conscience.

No, we are not becoming non-white. We are losing our American Identity through dis-use and atrophy. Over time the exercise of our freedom has been increasingly limited by tiny, incremental adjustments and a majority of people haven’t noticed. It’s a Generational Creep that you will be ridiculed for speaking up about because the alternative is too scary. Some would have the law be our “Linus’ Blanket,” to make us feel better about ourselves and offering an illusion of safety when true safety is a myth. It cannot be attained through the application of any law or regulation. Never mind that most any law passed to perform such safety measures will invariably be used as a revenue generator at best and at worse a power tool over individual freedom.

The effect of not teaching American Constitutional Principles and Generation Creep is never more evident than in the illegal immigration issue. How else can you explain the relatively miniscule federal reaction to and public tolerance of 30 million uninvited guests crossing our borders in an invasion of sheer numbers?

The greater issue as I see it is the influx of un-American Ideals as evidenced by too many sleepwalking voters in 2008 willing to take a handout from the government. It’s time to have a little pride in yourselves and realize the majority of our problems are caused by too much government and the only way to fix it is by decreasing the government’s involvement in our affairs.

Instead of worrying so much about how many non-white babies are being born, we should be fighting to teach those newborn Americans about the freedoms envisioned by our founders.

Daniel Miller, candidate for TX HD21 speaks at the SETX TEA Party forum which, not incidentally, was originally intended as a debate between Rep. Allan Ritter and Mr. Miller (D21) along with Rep. Mike Hamilton and Rep. James White (D19). Rather than a debate, the event evolved into a forum due to Ritter and Hamilton chickening backing out at the last minute. Shame on ’em.

It remains to be seen whether the people of Southeast Texas will abide this kind of behavior from their supposed servants.

“Southeast Texas has a chance, for once, to have a seat at the table when Conservatives take over the Texas Legislature.”~ Daniel Miller

A vote for Daniel Miller helps Orange and Jefferson Counties put a Constitutional Conservative in that seat.

Blog note: Originally posted on 5-18-12.

A couple of news items pertaining to the Miller campaign:

“TEAParty911.com founder, Michael Kinzie, today announced his endorsement of Daniel Miller in his bid for the Texas House of Representatives in HD-21. Kinzie said of Miller, “Daniel Miller IS what Texas needs more of. Anyone who would tell his moderate opponent, Allan Ritter, to ‘put up or shut up’ about his record is my kind of politician.”

Read the rest here:
http://www.teaparty911.com/candidates/daniel_miller_for_texas_representative_district_21.htm

In other news, Allan Ritter renounced his agreement to participate in the TEA Party hosted May 15 debate.

So, I guess Ritter chose to shut up. What is he afraid of, a RINO hunter?

The obvious conclusion is that Rep. Ritter is ashamed of his voting record and will attempt to stand on rhetoric alone. Like his liberal
friends in Washington, and the RINO House Speaker Joe Straus, he underestimates the fervor of the new TEA Party brand of Conservative and the enthusiasm they bring to personal investigation, information gathering and sharing.

My friends, it’s crunch time. If you want to elect a true Constitutional Conservative to the Texas House to represent Orange and Jefferson Counties, please pass this on to your friends. As far as war chests go, it doesn’t get more ‘David and Goliath’ than this, but we have the one thing our opponent’s campaign doesn’t.

A Proven Conservative.

On behalf of Daniel and the campaign team, Thanks for your help and support.

For if it is, in fact, a contest, our Fearless Reader: Barack Hussein Obama, is indeed the winner due to the fact he has declared war on every living soul in America and the free world for that matter. That the world just happens to contain a super-stretchy, pant-suit load of those feministic type people is not just a coincidence, it is a crucial part of the plan to divide and conjure. It also matters not that said feministas are clueless to Obama’s chicanery. In fact, it makes the offense ever more – um – offensive.

The gloves are coming off in the race for Texas Representative D21 between incumbent Allan Ritter and challenger Daniel Miller. Candidate Miller has called on Rep. Ritter to “Put up or shut up” and defend his record.

Good luck with that Rep. Ritter. In my robotic opinion, your record is impossible to describe as conservative. It simply isn’t.

And I’m not the lone wolf in my assessment.

Yesterday, Apostle Claver, founder of RagingElephants.org, Stampede!TX 2012 and Conservative activist extraordinaire spoke at a luncheon hosted by the Jefferson County Republican Women. In an impassioned speech, Claver shared his reasons for personally asking Daniel Miller to enter the race for State Representative.

Come to think of it, asking Daniel to run goes a bit farther than an endorsement, don’t you think?

Here’s the video:

Daniel Miller followed up with an email and post on his website TexansforMiller.com with a challenge to Rep. Ritter to defend his record.

An excerpt:

As you have spent countless dollars on trying to convince the people of Southeast Texas that you are a conservative, it is time that you prove it. Not with your usual tactic of taking credit for the work of actual conservatives in the Legislature, but by justifying the votes that you have taken during your tenure.

When legislation has been introduced in the Texas Legislature, you were forced to either vote for it, vote against it or “sit on the bench”. Any of these choices that you have made have been recorded in the journals of the Texas Legislature.

You need to come clean with the people of Southeast Texas and prove to us where you did not:

  • Vote FOR giving unsupervised state money to paroled felons (81 Leg., HB 3226)
  • Vote AGAINST the amendment that defunded Planned Parenthood (82 Leg., SB 23, RV#1172)
  • Vote FOR allowing judges to reduce punishments for child sex offenders (80 Leg., HB 8, Amendment 16)
  • Vote FOR allowing illegal aliens to receive in-state college tuition rates (77 Leg., HB 1403)
  • Vote AGAINST Voter ID in the 79th & 80th Legislative session (79 Leg., SB 89, RV#842; 80 Leg., HB 218, Amendments 7, 11, 13, 15 & Passage to Engrossment)
  • Vote FOR giving drivers licenses to illegal aliens in the 77th Legislative session (77 Leg., HB 396)
  • Vote FOR raiding the Rainy Day Fund in the 82nd Legislative session (82 Leg., SB 2, RV#58)

Again, your votes were pulled directly from the journals of the Texas Legislature and, unless the Legislature is operating its journals like it “balances” a budget, then you will not be able to show that you voted like a conservative on any of these bills and amendments cited.

These votes, among many others, were noted by leading Conservative watchdog groups EmpowerTexans, Heritage Alliance, Young Conservatives of Texas and the Texas Eagle Forum and were just a few that led to your FAILING SCORES during your entire tenure in the Texas Legislature.

Just in case you missed it at the GTRW meeting, here they are:

  • Heritage Alliance 2009 – 30%
  • Heritage Alliance 2011 – 57%
  • Empower Texans 2009 – 42%
  • Empower Texans 2011 – F
  • Young Conservatives of Texas 2009 – 32%
  • Young Conservatives of Texas 2011 – 55%
  • Young Conservatives of Texas Career – 40%
  • Eagle Forum 2011 – 28%

Given these scores it is difficult for you to make the case that you are a “conservative leader” and, at best, the most that you can claim from the last session is a “Participation Ribbon”.

Some things just speak for themselves, like an incumbent’s record.

Please click here to read the whole thing.

On a semi-side note, if you’re in the mood for a little lighthearted spoof on Representative Ritter and his recent “Conservative Conversion,” I’ve been playing around with a new camera and some video editing software lately. Feel free to hammer on politely critique my editing skillz in the comments.

After you view that last video, be sure to hit the 1836 Money Bomb banner so we can afford to hire better video guys and hopefully even get the commercials aired. We are the very epitome of grass-roots around here, folks. Kind-of like the Beverly Hillbillies, but without the oil, mansion or movie set.

I believe the only way to save Texas and America is to support grass-roots, Constitutional, Conservative, Christian candidates. That’s why I got involved at the campaign level, and why I support Texas Patriots like Daniel Miller, Tammy Blair, Robert Gonzales, Col. Jim Engstrand, James White, Heidi Thiess and Ted Cruz.
